The Ashes 2013/14

You BHQ boys and girls at the Gabba have had a cracker of a days cricket. Hopefully a few pommy wickets late this arvo. :)

Come on, Pup. Make the call and bring the boys in. If we're lucky we might get Cook before stumps.

Wait until the magic 600 mark... Then call it.

Not a bad declaration but I would've given Mitchell Johnson a chance to make his 50 than declare besides we've still got almost 2 full days of play left and we could've set them something over 600 and still would've had plenty of time.

England need a miracle to avoid defeat here but it ain't over till it's over.

Does anyone think England are still a chance? My only concern is they still have plenty of time to chase down this massive total. I hope they don't go for a draw right off the bat.

He deserves everything he is going to get across the country and I have absolutely not sympathy for him whatsoever. I gave him a serve yesterday and gave it to his stupid fan-girls and joined in the chant.

What he did was blatant cheating and not in the spirit of the game in any way shape or form.

This attitude shows a complete ignorance. Haddin didn't walk a day after the Broad incident. Are you in favour of a hate campaign against him?

I think the hate campaign that our local media has run with for this guy is nothing short of embarrassing .. it's bush league ... the bloke is an outstanding cricketer and competitor and is guilty of nothing other than playing the game with a swagger and self-assuredness that a lot of Australian greats used to in eras gone by.

Agreed but it has worked. Got plenty of coverage and attention from people that think Broad is the first to not walk.

It just gets better and better.

Can someone tell me why Aussie fans hate Pieterson? I enjoy watching him play.

Not sure tbh Broncoman. I think it's the fear factor he can bring. He's never really been scarred by Australia's dominance the way other players have. His approach to Warne in 2005 (no longer blocking him, going after soft deliveries etc) really galvanised them and it's no coincidence that the tide started to turn back towards England at that time.

Under your astute captaincy we wouldn't have two wickets.

Really petty statement, 1910. Clarke could have given Johnson another 20 mins or so to try and get his half century. Or he could have declared when he did and our bowlers serve up rubbish with England 0/50 at stumps. Who knows?

It's pretty easy to show up here after the fact and pick apart posts from people who are game enough to make a prediction. It doesn't really add much to the discussion though.

Another excellent day of test cricket from Australia. Good batting followed by a good declaration. If only Bailey didn't balls up that run out we would have had Cook out. Really hoping we knock them over quickly tomorrow or at least take wickets regularly.

Had a great day at the Gabba, wonderful all round. I gotta say, I'm a Pietersen fan after today. The way he interacted with the crowd was great fun. He could dish it out but he could take it as well and made sure he signed anything kids and others bought him, except a South African flag. Haha
