It's certainly an odd story. Maybe he'd lost his ID and it took a while for them to identify him?

Doesn't mean he was dead for those 30 hours. Probably took something that wasn't quite what he expected, went on a little adventure while topping himself up every few hours, and it was too much for his system.

No foul play suspected.
They think it could have been an accidental fall. That's all they have said. I'm not familiar with the night club but I believe it has several levels.

Spanish police have said they believe he was on the second level of the nightclub and fell from a height of 10 metres.
There's a railing, so whether he was doing something stupid by climbing it or he was accidentally knocked over, that's unknown.

I would say he left his ID where he was staying so it wouldn't get lost/stolen (what I do when I'm traveling unless I'm going somewhere where it's essential) and the gap in time is because the officers couldn't identify him.

More details regarding why it took so long.
Hampson had not been seen since 4.30am Tuesday, local time, and his body was not discovered until Wednesday lunchtime.
It is understood the nightclub had opened as normal in the hours Hampson was missing and that British band Paradise Lost had played on Tuesday night.
His body, however, had not been seen until the following day as he had fallen onto an internal balcony police say “was not part of the public area of the nightclub”.
He was found by cleaners.
