OFFICIAL The Kevolution - (Walters new coach of the Broncos)

Yep, Grant, Fifita and Cleary to the Roosters by 2022 seems to be the NRL's idea of a wet dream.

Lucky SBW is leaving to free up the funds. They can go with the leftover cash from when Fitzgibbon retired to help get those guys above over the line and then Fox Sports can tell us all again how Uncle Nick is just so much better at negotiating than literally every other club in the NRL.

Apparently they are having a shot at the 'wonderkid with dollar signs in his eyes' Suaalii as well.

To be honest though.. I think the Roosters are great at managing the cap. If you watch their recruitment and retention moves every year you can see how it is being managed. They have let go of some good players.. People may forget that. They're just very good at filling the voids. Politis knows how to manage a portfolio of investments pretty well I think. Trent Robinson obviously has a big influence too. Similar to Craig Bellamy.

Should we just sign this kid and let him get pummelled all year? We'd be paying a lot but maybe he'd learn some humility while playing for the Broncos and then everything may turn out okay

He's also wildly enthusiastic about golf bets but not particularly successful. Some sources say he's never won a single one, despite making them with players on a very regular basis!

Great at managing investments. Certainly no secret around the Eastern Suburbs that he's a dreadfully unlucky golfer though.

But at least the Roosters have an actual eye for talent.. Broncos don't even know how to spend their money when they have it.. Our junior talent scouts are the best thing about the club in terms of recruitment.. It all falls apart at NRL level.

Has hodges been confirmed as on the coaching staff yet? He was released by QRL for the maroons.

Doesn't really matter though does it. It works for them. As a Sydney club it's a bit easier to swap around players with other Sydney clubs.

The problem is that the Roosters replace ‘gaps’ with superstars / big name talents. The fact they get away with it flies in the face of the idea of a salary cap. It also helps an ex-employee is the salary cap auditor.

Lose Mitchell? No worries, bring in SBW and Walker. Lose Pearce? No worries, bring in Cronk and Crichton. Lose Cronk? No worries, bring in this South’s kid who everyone wants to pay through the roof for.

Keary off contract? No worries, sign him on way less than market value and we’re all good here.

The other thing is, Addo-Carr has been given a huge offer by the Tigers but South’s look set to get him despite already spending big on Mitchell, Roberts and Arrow. The whole salary cap system is a joke, it is always the same teams up the top year in, year out.

I think these Rooster comments go too far and is tall poppy syndrome. Comments about the Roosters getting Grant, Fifita and Cleary are just nonsense (not you Sproj, a few posts earlier)

I'm not even sure who the Walker player is that you refer to? Maybe i'm having a mental blank...

Sure they get some benefit from having a very rich benefactor in Politis but lets not pretend we haven't had such benefits over the years, we have just wasted them on the wrong players.

The Roosters are getting superb value out of players like the Morris boys who were borderline journeymen before they signed, Isaac Liu who is probably on no more than what we pay Offa, Collins, Tupouniua and even Ikuvau when called on who i believe still works as a teacher. Throw in the likes of Tupou, Lussick, Aubusson, Radley and Taukeiaho who all play above their contracts, its just a great mix.
Sure they have some well paid superstars in Tedesco, JWH, Cleary and Cordner but they also get value from them, Teddy is arguably the most valuable player in the game on what we would be paying Bird or Milford.

SBW would be playing for **** all $, it would be like tolerating opposition fans having a pop at us for signing Teo. At the start of this season they lost Cronk and Tetevano and signed Flanagan and eventually picked up the Morris boys, hardly screams rorting the system to me. If we had have signed Flanagan this board would have melted with negative posts.

Is it a great shock that Keary wanted to stay? I'm sure he is getting a decent salary on the books and who were reported to be offering him $1M+ contracts, even if it was the Broncos why would he want to leave the Roosters after they have helped him become one of the best playmakers in the game?

Sometimes i feel this board just likes the cheap gag of "Roosters sign everyone durrr..." and i hope that's the case rather than just jealousy about a well run club with a good eye for talent in a purple patch of having the right mix of players and coach.

Lol "Morris twins are borderline journeyman" , wish we could get some journeyman like that on our books.

Do you live in Sydney? I'm going to assume probably not.

If you spend a bit of time in Sydney, particularly in and around the Eastern Suburbs, and you're under 35 and have an active social life, you tend to run into NRL players and people who associate with NRL players and that includes Roosters players too.

Players get drunk, they get high, they're predominantly young and sometimes dumb and often they can't help themselves with saying things they almost certainly shouldn't, so It's not exactly a state secret how this stuff works. If you honestly believe the Roosters are completely above board then you may as well believe in Santa Claus. These things don't just appear out of thin air.

I'm not suggesting they are the only ones doing it, or even that we don't necessarily do it too because for all I know we might, I'm just saying that if you stick around long enough you start to see that the Roosters just appear to do it far better than most.

I think what annoys me is that those guys you say are playing well above their contract have been playing well above their contract for almost all their careers... so why is there never any interest from the rest of the market to try and poach them??

TKO is a borderline top 10 prop, that goal kicks and has played long minutes at lock... why is he not getting $800k a year contracts??

Manu apparently re-signed for $600k, but he'd be a certainty to get huge money on the open market as a fullback... yet he has no interest in going to market.

Tupou is an elite winger, but never seems interested in going to market.

JWH gets put in the conversation for best prop, but never seems to be getting chased.

Liu is a starter in almost all teams, but never seems to come off contract or have any interest from the rest of the comp

Tuponuia (or however you spell it) looks a very promising player who would get hyped to max in Brisbane, but quietly signed an extension

I imagine Crichton will be happy to sign on (probably for a reduced salary) with little interest from the market... unless of course the roosters dont want him then $800k offers will come in from everywhere.

That's just a few but it's suspect as **** that their players never seem to get interest from the market

Sam Walker. Future star. Amazing step, acceleration, passing game. Walters was seriously disappointed he went south. He should have been here.

Thing with the Roosters is that this year at least, "superb value" or not, they have run out of puff, too many old men as they discovered against Penrith.

I said "were" considered journeymen at the time, honestly were there clubs falling over themselves to sign them at the time...

I agree though, i wish we could find similar signings for next year.
