The last match

Re: The last 2 matches

Frankly Rocky...I'm stunned you could conclude that Canberra will be easy at Suncorp !!! I'm pretty sure that was St George they put a big score on yesterday, the minor premiers 2 years running, coached by a legend and yet they belted them. We played them and barely got home over them( St George) yet their conquerors will be easy ????....I think our chances are pretty remote against either new Zealand or Canberra.

I love the optimism but the reality is that should we lose to the massive Warriors and get beaten up in the process then the following week against the even bigger Raiders will be too much. I'd like to be wrong and well may be but it will be tough, no doubts. It just cannot be considered an easy win(Canberra in Brisbane).

and the knights face melbourne at home in the last game of the season.. you'd think the storm would turn up for their last game together. the knights are away to the dragons in the last round.. and you'd think the dragons will want to stop losing games by then.

With the Knights playing twice in the last round they are a good chance of making the final.

ha woops.. yeah i meant rabbits vs dragons.

We're due for a win, whether its this week or next week, I'm sure we'll get a win. Remember our form was quite good before Lockyer got injured, and that was only 2 weeks ago. All depends on how Lockyer plays of course.

If this season has taught me anything, It's that you can't judge a game on how they played 2 weeks before. Hell most the time you can't judge them on the week before, for all we know the Raiders could fall to the Cowboys next week.

Re: The last 2 matches

I have to feel a little bit of sympathy for IH. They brought Tim Smith into the fold from Easts to cover exactly this scenario, but unfortunately the Sharkies poached him. I know his form has been up and down, but what an advantage it would have been to throw him in during this period when Locky has been injured.

You really are a glass-half-empty kinda guy aren't you Coxy

I'd call it realism

Re: The last 2 matches

That's how I see my attitude too, Bull_Shark. Unfortunately that doesn't go hand in hand with the traditional mentality of a fan who should always be positive, always believe their team is awesome, always tip their team, and whenever they lose it's because of the referee.

I'm just not like that. If I think the Broncos are likely to lose, I will tip the other team - afterall, I'm in a tipping competition to win it.

If the team or individuals don't perform, I will criticise them (win or lose).

If other teams are showing better form I will be realistic about our chances of continuing, I won't blindly have faith that we will win.

But that doesn't stop me riding every hit up, every tackle and biting my nails through every game urging them on to win! And when we do win and do play well I will praise the guys to no end. And when we lose it ***** my weekend. Completely. Even if I tipped it right.

I'm sure I'm not the only fan who feels this way!

Re: The last 2 matches

How sickening to have to totally agree Coxy !!....the only rider I'd add is this.....I tend to be less strident or colourful when being critical of any players. It takes great courage just to play first grade and only a bit less to play any grade.

+1

As you know full well from watching heaps of games with me I can be both very praising but also very critical because that is my right as a fan. Supporting a team would be boring if we won every game and all the players were perfect anyway.

Re: The last 2 matches

If Wallace and Macca fire, and we re-gain the discipline of our recent purple patch, and Henjak keeps Macca as FT hooker and deletes Hunt from the team if Locky returns, there's no reason why we shouldn't win both the next 2 games and get to the GF

Re: The last 2 matches

Who knows, the cowboys might finally do us a favour and beat Canberra for us. They owe us for two seasons of injuries to Locky.
