The old rumours of factions within the team

Don't feel bad. Chris Walker and Dave Taylor are my favourite Broncos of all time.
Chris Walker used to be my favourite player when I was younger. When I was playing centre I just enjoyed watching him do the things he did. Bloke would have an excellent highlight reel.

Josh Hoffman & Corey Norman, definitely unlikable. Two biggest wankers to wear a Broncos jersey. Sooked and whinged and put in no effort.

Gerard Beale however, always put in. His knee to Lockyer was him taking a bomb brilliantly in a tough situation. Sucks Locky went out that way but I hate when people blame it on Beale.

Martin Kennedy was/is my least favourite bronco.

Talked a good game every article but was a massive pillow. Cared more about his fucking reptiles.

And the worse thing about him in football terms was he was bloody drug cheat.

Fair dinkum, how you could be a drug cheat AND that bad at football and still be in the NRL is absolutely mind-boggling.

It might even be un-precedented?

Locky had that bomb, watch it again.

Beale had no business going in like that - if he had taken his eyes off the ball for a second and looked ahead, he would have seen Locky was going to take it.

Locky of course is the type of bloke to say it was his fault, but he was calling it and would have taken it.

I personally think he cost us a premiership with that decision.

It's Beale's ball, Lockyer has his back to the kick where as Beale is coming into it. As fullback it's his catch to take, Lockyer was running an escort and was just overzealous going for the ball.

Yep...hands out, ready to take the ball. Escort.

Running the escort was his role in the play. Lockyer attempting to take a bomb in that scenario was wrong. Perhaps the only criticism could be made of Beale in that instance was that he didn't communicate effectively enough but without much audio it's difficult to clarify.

I dunno, If I see the GOAT going to take a catch, I let him take it. Not leap in and kill him.

Fact is, he didn't take his eyes off the ball, and maybe, maybe, if he did, he sees Lockyer taking it pretty comfortably (no jump challenge) and let's him take it.

Locky had it. So clearly his instinct, which I'd back 10/10 times, was to take the ball himself.

That argument doesn't wash with me. The catch was always going to be difficult from Lockyer's position and Beale neglecting his responsibility 'because Lockyer' is weak.

Except that's not the argument...the ball is going straight into Locky's arms. No Beale = Locky takes the catch, doesn't get ruined and we probably beat Manly.

You're entitled to yours though.

*Maybe it's fate though. Maybe if Locky doesn't get wrecked, maybe we don't win that game with a FG. Who knows.

All speculation, none of it fact.

The clip doesn't highlight how long the ball was up in the air, nor how the Dragons chasers reacted when they saw Beale storming onto the ball. If you take Beale out of the equation, the scenario changes again and there's doubt over whether the kick would have been contested.

Notice Lockyer changing direction to move in front of Hornby?

And if you change X then Y happens...

Based on what we saw, Beale didn't need to jump in there like Kiwi Superman. Locky had it.

Really shows a lack of awareness to even attempt that with a player DIRECTLY in front of him...like, what else could happen?
Glad he was moved on soon after.

You know how it isn't a 5/8th's job to catch bombs.
