The Thurston myth

Channel 9 = over rates Thurston to the BS.
Coxy = under rates Thurston to the BS.

Enough Said.

It's Thurston's attitude that makes him a great player imo. Don't disregard attitude as a flimsy attribute compared to skill and talent. His determination, grit and will to win makes him the player he is. He's a good player to have in your team.

So you're saying the truth is somewhere between Coxy and channel 9? That's about right for most things rugby league! :P

eg:
Channel 9 = Origin is the greatest event in the world and it doesn't matter what impact it has on the NRL premiership, it must be played midweek so we can get massive ratings and **** up the comp either side of it.

Coxy = Origin is the greatest impediment to the NRL premiership and should be moved either to the end of the season, or standalone weekends, or reduced to a single game.

:P

Something like that. No doubt the origin makes the NRL club games during the week absolute rubbish and the backing up games crapola as well. In theory you are making about 3 rounds rubbish and another 3 half as good. Not good enough. Origin is still the best though, I love it to death. Quite a few people don't care as much about SOO, but I live in NSW. (hehehe)

There are a lot of players channel 9 over rate / under rate, once they LOVE a player - they LOVE a player. Often to the point where it affects viewers.

Thurston is the greatest player to ever lace a boot....almost.

THURSTON for PM! Wooo! If not PM then at least HalfBack for QLD, the next most powerful role in Australia....muwahahahaha.

5 pages. This is probably my most productive bait ever....... :P

What a cracking pass to put John Williams away on Saturday night!

What a freakin hero legend amazing halfback of all time oh yeah!

Kimmorley half a chance for Kangaroos berth

Glenn Jackson | August 14, 2009

THERE are some Dogs that simply will not roll over. Just when Brett Kimmorley's representative career appeared to have quietly slipped on by, he knocked Queensland and Johnathan Thurston off their pedestals in the final State of Origin. And now, facing the same player for his club side, there is a real chance Kimmorley is playing for an Australian jumper.

Are they serious? Are they really serious? Do they think that QLD were knocked off thier pedestal? Do they think that Kimmorley was the one who did it? I seemed to think it was a lack of caring on QLD's part and also the ref who did not keep NSW onside once, with a touch of class from Watmaugh.... [icon_shru

There are no words..........but no wonder we QLDers hate NSW so much those arrogant so and so's.

There's no doubt Kimmorley's form has been better and more consistent than Thurston's this season. And he's actually a halfback, not a bloke playing out of position.

We all cried foul when he was chosen a few years ago, but man didn't he carve up. I like Kimmy, he shines when you put quality around him. I would have no problem with him wearing the number 7.

My rant is about the fact that Kimmorley quote"knocked qld off their pedestal" unquote.
Gah! Turn it up.

Kimmorley definitely deserves to be considered, although Thurston's form has been stellar and should retain the jersey, but if anything happenned to him I would have Kimmorley ahead of Prince on current form.

I think Kimmorley's been in far better form than Thurston all year.

Thurston will get picked. Noddy deserves it just as much as Thurston IMO, but Thurston has incumbency and unfortunately that counts for a lot with the selectors in all facets of the NRL.

Thurston is more the type of halfback that the Australian team needs IMO - the players chosen are the best of the best, and dont need someone telling them where to be/what to do every second, rather they just need someone to lead by example. Thurston does this with the best of them, whereas Kimmorley is more of an organiser than a 'take a game by the scruff of the neck' player.

I think Thurston should be there too, at five-eighth.

Yes, I think it's time Lockyer was tapped on the shoulder and bid adieu.

Wash your mouth out with the sweat from a fat ladies thighs..... blasphemer!
