Good to see his team get shown up as the pretenders they are tonight. Only made it to the preliminary final because of their finals draw. Had they had any other opponent in week 1 they'd have been sent packing. Then the refs got them home against Melbourne, and now they get spanked.

Suck on that one Wayne.

AP, why do you hate WB?

I could understand if you were just a very strong critic, but the feeling seems to run much deeper. Seems to be a fair amount of bitterness there.

He'd be great for the Cowboys too.

It'd be good to see him come home to QLD.

WB won't win another premiership as head coach.

I didn't think it would take long, nothing to say leading up in case they won but the Hyena sneaks back to sink the boot.

If that was Melb the excuses would be flying thick and fast, but but but we lost our hooker and the forward pass the refs robbed us.

The better team won on the night it happens no matter who the coach is. Just ask Bellamy about that GF they lost 40 - 0, now that's a finals thrashing.

Is Wayne coming home next year?

If by home you mean to the Cowboys, yes very likely... If by home you mean to the Broncos, as coaching director yes please, as head coach no thanks.

Home is the Broncos, and yes I agree, coaching director would be best but Hook has the same game plan so there would be no difference anyway.

Ikin is a board member at the Cows and said last Wednesday he had not heard of WB going to the Cows, however the applicants were supposed to be informed on who was successful last Tuesday then it got put off to Thursday then delayed again.
That makes the Cows hot favs I would say.

Him and Griffin can take turns grunting answers.

Like I said last week, I'm done with the nrl for this year so I wasn't even going to watch the game. In fact I didn't watch it, only turned on for the last 20 minutes or so when someone told me the roosters were running riot. I don't usually post too much in the off season, as I generally only come here to talk about footy. With me not watching any more footy this year after last weekend, its essentially the offseason for me.

Just had to come back and say how glad I am that the knights are out :)

Last nights game was a perfect example of even the best have an off-day. Rugby League coaching can work out the same way as other jobs in society you have your good days and your bad days.

Just like Melbourne and the fab 3 had an off day last week.......:winky:

If it wasn't clear before, it certainly is now.

I don't understand why anyone on this site is still arguing with AP.

Folks, don't waste your time. The troll is just going to troll.

In the end, 2013 turned out to be a succesful season for Wayne. A final four finish was above most expectations and they defeated some quality opposition to make it there.

Question is what will 2014 bring? This finish doesn't really change anything and they still don't look like a premiership winning side just yet.

They finished 7th, 1 more win than losses, then lucked out in their finals draw and got hammered when it counted. Yeh, success!

To be honest I think last night newcastles premiership window got shut hard. With the likes of bedsy gone and the old boys one year older I can't see them getting any better, and despite a good season the roosters showed how far they are still off the pace.

IMO Bennett will announce in the next fortnight he is leaving for the cows next year. He knows the chance of a premiership is gone at Newcastle and with thurston in his final years he knows that there is a year or two window at the cows.
