So is the old fella going to the Cowboys or what ?
i keep seeing people say that Bennett outcoached bellamy, had some sort of brilliant game plan, and "schooled him"....yet noone has actually given any example of how or what he supposedly did tomake you make these claims?Wayne Bennett showed he still has a few tricks up his sleeve, the way he really schooled Bellyache.
You can try to find any excuses you want... burnout, fatigue, lack of motivation; Fact is that despite having clearly the lesser roster, Newcastle taught the Storm a lesson in finals footy imo.
oh you mean that tackle that hit the storm player in the head, the type that is penalised every single game of every single week throughout the year? That tackle that was correctly penalised? The Storm were on the back foot all night, despite only losing by 2 points. The Knights came out with a game plan played through their forwards and utilising their outside backs more than they have. They didn't try and beat Melbourne at their own game (ie slow play the balls, winning the wrestle), which so many teams have tried and failed.
It was a different style of play to what the Knights have produced all season, so you would imagine the coach had a fair bit to do with that. The Knights players certainly seemed to think so.
And if you wanna talk about the refs - let's talk about the bull**** McKinnon 'high tackle' penalty that gifted the Storm 6 tackles inside the Knights' 30m which resulted in a try.

The rule is rubbish, but its the rule and it was a correct ruling. There is no if, but or maybe - he made contact with the head of the ball carrier so its a penalty.
And gee, a game played through the forwards and then giving the ball to the backs to chance their arm on 4th/5th tackle? Wow, i have literally never seen a game plan like that. Ever. Noone has ever thought to do that in the 100 years of rugby league. Amazing. Its not like that's precisely what most teams do every single week, no, not at all..... Lol

Slater (I think it was) falls into a player's arm, gets a high tackle penalty.
Meanwhile JWH runs with a raised elbow, ends Buderus' season, no penalty.
Which one was the right call?
If he schooled Bellamy in a 2 point win, what did the roosters coach just do to Bennett with his teams emphatic 26 point victory? University'd him? Masters degree'd him? Phd'd him?
To reply in the same fashion as you did to me, what was the 40-0 Manly put on the Storm... A Nobel prize worth lesson? :001_tt2:last years grand final was just awesome to watch. it was a legitimate brilliant coach showdown, and bellamy gave hasler a masterclass on coaching against an individual team.

that was the storm without Cameron smith, the most valuable player in the entire league for the last 5+ years. It wasn't any fantastic coaching, it was a great team in great form just steamrolling a team missing their best player. To reply in the same fashion as you did to me, what was the 40-0 Manly put on the Storm...
