RABBLE RABBLE Tigers Robbery - Refereeing Farce

Payten was in the post match presser pretty much justifying that because they have had tries taken off them this year and that cost them games... of course, he forgets to mention they were legit no try decisions (well at least one of them is, i don't recall the round 1 incident he refers to)
Tabuai-Fidow was just infront of the kicker when Hess batted the ball back against the Bulldogs to score what would have been the match-winner.

It was a fair call.

The one last week was more controversial and I can understand them being frustrated with it. I believe the video referee was right, but it's a decision that changed the entire complexion of the game.

How convenient ...?

This may be a controversial opinion, but I thought they got the overall call right in the end. Kepaoa is originally on the touchline. He then bee lines infield and drops his shoulder into Feldt (pretending that he is not doing just that). Feldt naturally makes a huge deal of it.

I understand that there is a seperate controversy around whether the Cowboys should have been allowed to challenge. But in my opinion, they got the escort penalty as a penalty right.

Given there was only one play to be had and the Tigers were up by 1, they didn't need to be trying any escort. Most likely they would have caught the ball or tackled the Cowboys had they come up with possession. Game over.

The hysteria around the Tigers losing has been ott.

Remember years ago when the government was trotting out the "darkest days in australian sport" headline? I think it was when Cronulla were into the peptides..

The way this game finished for mine, it's got a bit of Ryan Tandy about it.

Kepaoa may have started on the sideline, but the ball didn't get there.

Kepaoa is allowed to change his position to go for the ball, he is also allowed to compete with Feldt to get there.

Feldt then ran into the back of Kepaoa before taking a dive. of the two Feldt is the one who had no intention of going for the ball

One of the key elements of the rule is intent. Now I can see an argument that based on the line Kepaoa ran he intended to run Feldt off the ball, but I don't believe he intends to make contact. If you watch the footage, it's Feldt who nudges his right elbow into Kepaoa and proceeds to dive.

Are they really going to try and argue that the challenge was allowed because the cows were challenging the ref's call of full time? LMAO

Not controversial mate, just flat out wrong.
Kepaoa clearly has eye on the ball and he is allowed to do what he did.
Feldt deliberately ran into him and fell over to milk a penalty, you can even see him laughing afterwards.

Was there another angle to the one shown on the highlights that showed Feldt spotting Kepaoa and changing his line to run into him?
From what I’ve seen they simply collided which shouldn’t have been ruled a penalty as neither changed their line but I don’t think Feldt took a dive

I mean, technically if it was a penalty than it was incorrect to blow full time and there for challenging full time would
make sense

Let’s look at the facts and help me out here:
- Both had eyes on the ball - according to previous NRL explanations, this makes it all ok
- Full time was called
- No penalty was given, therefore under the rules as has been explained previously, no challenge can happen
- It appears that Townsend challenged inside 10 seconds but not called as a challenge until 26 seconds post-incident
- The video ref has determined that there was a taking out despite so many factors making it at worst inconclusive
- Feldt is a known diver
- The Tigers’ player didn’t really have a need to take anyone out as it was literally the last play of the match

Already got leaks coming out that the NRL is backing the decision. No doubt the media department testing the waters to see if they can find a few friendly ears so they can go ahead with it. If the media keeps blowing up I'm sure Don Vlandys will come in and issue a mea culpa

I believe this shit Refereeing is all on V'Landys . He has been an utter disaster for the code, and just a boon for the punters . The detioration of this game is farcical , and that bullshit yesterday just highlights it . I mean we are one of the most hard done Teams in the comp with utter bias or shit decisions , but how the bottom team got absolutely dudded like that , is just not acceptable, for anyone , any longer . All NRL Clubs should be fucking blowing up royally.

Legitimately the worst call ive seen in the past 5 years let alone this season, and its no surprise Klein has his dirty hands all over it as well.
Tigers 100% robbed 6 ways to Sunday.

Feldt rocketing to the top of my most hated player list, right up there with Turncoates and Luai.
Tigers threatening legal action and rightfully so, as this was not just a disgraceful series of events, but the officials themselves have brought the game into disrepute and should be held accountable.

Klein should be dropped from all duties for the rest of the season and undertake intensive retraining.
The win should officially be overturned, and the two points awarded to the tigers on the back of an official public apology from Annesley.
