RUMOUR TPJ to be sacked

I think many are now assuming that there is a multitude of offences committed by TPJ for him to be sacked.

However if it is just in relation to the breach I would also assume Alfie has to go given the circumstances. I can't imagine that happening and am against it but it would only make sense.
Was alfie hanging out with known bikies?

I don't agree with sacking him at all. TPJ is still one of my favourite players, and is one of the very few on our squad that can break a game open.

You'd also be opening a can of legal worms, since precidents have been set for players breaking the bubble in other clubs. His other problems with suspensions are fixable.

He is just a massive liability now.
He has had plenty of time to get his shit together, even himself saying he owed the club after being suspended so many times over his time here.

Sure he can be a game breaker when he is 'on' but those instances as few and far between.

Time to move him on.

That would be a decent analogy if everyone else was allowed to speed except you.

Everyone’s employment isn’t predicated upon doing everything possible to remain COVID free. His is. In return he is paid an absolute fortune compared to most and all he had to do is suck it up for another 7 weeks, then he can do what everyone else can and enjoy his large salary to boot.

But apparently despite the entire league doing it, that was too much to expect from this entitled moron.

The difference is that TPJ was premeditated he put a photo on insta and provided a message that he "sick if the bubble".

It wasn't a lapse in judgement... he knew what he was doing and it was a purposeful act, which breaks his playing contract conditions
I hope you aren’t a lawyer because that photo and statement does not prove anything was premeditated. Most of us are sick of the Queensland bubble because the bloody Mexicans (NSW and VIC) can’t get their states in order.

Believe it's the Mexicans that are in Victoria causing the problems mainly, not us new south welshmen

The entire league isn’t doing that and if you believe that I’ve got a 2018 Dally M coach of the year to sell you.

Milf loves getting haircuts, maybe he should go for a haircut there next???

WTF was he even trying to say last night.
A nation of dobbers because his mate Wayne got put in.
Goes to show he doesn't take Covid seriously.

Wayne must have his arm a fair way up Crawley’s ass.

First Crawls tried making a good point how we are a nation of dobbers but than ruined his spiel by using that to try and defend Wayne.

He then even went as far as to dob himself in to defend Wayne’s honour when Kenty called him out on how significant the Wayne issue is.

You couldn’t make this stuff up.

Somewhere in an alternate universe, Wayne is overseeing the current mess at Brisbane and Crawls is on NRL360 every Tuesday defending the Broncos or bagging everyone at the club and putting blame on everyone except for Wayne.

The entire league is bound by the Project Apollo agreement which has been signed by every participant. Should they want out, they can put up their hand and leave, and return subject to the isolation period. As Pies did.

Should a player be in breach of the agreement, they are liable to whatever penalties are specified, which are prone to change depending on specific easing and contracting of local restrictions. They do not, however, override local policy. So when the Premier makes a change to border policy, she will address how this affects the Apollo players. The states are responsible for their own border and bio security. There isn't leeway for people who don't feel like it.

Again, just because you think there is no risk because of the case numbers you've seen released, does not mean there is no literal risk, nor does it mean the State government should act based on your personal assessment. And also again, the players are under a special class of bio security that stands separate to citizens. If they hadn't have agreed to that, there would be no competition.

If the players would prefer to be subject to the laws of the State, they are free to sit the season out. That's their choice.

I have no idea why everyone is so quick to turf Lodge out on his ass.

He has been one of the few shining lights over the last couple of years and has been one of a handful that has shown heart and is proud to represent the club and the city and wants to get them back to where they should be. I also think he is one of the very few who can actually be a leader for this club moving forward.

I understand there is a narrative that his best is behind him with the rule changes, but he isn’t Shannon Boyd. You have to remember he has been injury plagued all season and some of the pre season and is having to try and play with almost nil match fitness in a team with zero confidence.

How about we let him get a full pre season in for 2021 and let him heal from what was almost a significant knee injury before we judge whether the game has passed him by. Way too premature at this stage.

Also I do not believe for a minute he is on $700,000 anyway. The club has done some dumb things in negotiations in recent times but I struggle to fathom why they would have offered that much considering all the circumstances. He also turned down more money to stay for less because of what the club done for him. I also struggle to believe teams were throwing $800,000+ at him for a 50-55 minute prop forward who isn’t even a rep player yet and isn’t exactly a game breaking player. I dare say he is more likely on the $500,000-$550,000 range which would make much more sense and I think can be justified.

He won’t be getting sacked for the bubble breach as an isolated incident, that was just the straw that broke the camels back.

The fact he has missed half seasons of footy through on field ill discipline, the phone call to Politis and now this, I think the club has had enough and has seen this as an opportunity to be able to part ways without affecting our salary cap.

The worse thing that can happen now is we don’t sack him after this and a disillusioned TPJ coasts the rest of his contract without a single **** given.

If we don’t take the opportunity to sack him and wash our hands of his contract, come 2021 when he decides he wants out again, we will probably be paying half his salary for another club to take him which would be even more disastrous.

I love TPJ as a player when he is on but the last 11 weeks has turned me off on a lot of our playing group and it’s obvious which ones actually give a **** about the club. I’m at the stage where I think we need to cut all the mercenaries and build a better balanced team out of the remainder.

Seems like the board are finally getting the hint that the whole youth policy and trying to keep this inexperienced but talented forward pack together just has not paid off at all and has been an utter failure.

We have gone from having the most promising pack in the comp to close to the worst in the space of a few weeks. Haas is pretty much the only one left worth feeding if Lodge decides to depart.

Carrigan and Flegler both put in and will be the mainstay of our pack moving forward. Haas will of course be the cornerstone. We snare one experienced and hard working forward and we'll be able to bring further talent through our system.

Yeah, a shame, but this promising pack hasn't been a winning pack at any time in its history. Maybe we overestimated it by confusing a group of talented individuals as a pack. I just hope Payne isn't part of the problem. God help us, if so.

Hanging with Quade, does he want to go to Union?
I was just saying this yesterday to a mate who only follows rugby: he plays more like a rugby breakaway than a league player. I don't understand why more league players don't turn their back into tackles, draw the defence and offload into the gap. I think he'd do well in union.

The bonus being that if you don’t get the offload away, there’sa good chance you’ll get a penalty for a crusher tackle..
