I think the limited trials hurt him.
He played too many games in 2020 (13) to play the first trial. and this trial is clearly being used as a dress rehearsal for the regular season, and at full strength he wouldn't be in the 17 IMO

Mmm, thanks I guess. From the responses so far it seems like no new information so far. I guessed that was the case, I knew why he wasn't in the first trial and I thought he'd at least get a chance in the second trial. Not being mentioned made me think he wasn't rated or perhaps carrying a preseason injury and probably get some game time after ISC.

With a glut of Middle Forwards who all ability wise far exceed what Kennedy brings to the table, he really should only be featuring over Origin or with a host on injuries. Given our Origin representation is likely to be low, he's probably lucky he plays for a club that loves an injury otherwise I doubt we'd be seeing much at all of him in 2021.

No doubt we have a strong first 17 with our middle forward pack, very strong actually. But a few injuries like last year and our depth looks thin again. Bullemore is the next middle forward outside our expected 17 then Kennedy but then nothing. Literally.

We have enough forward depth and players who can play multiple positions in the pack to survive a reasonable injury toll but after that any team would struggle.
Props: Lodge, Carrigan, Haas, Asiata, Bullimore, Flegler, Kennedy, TPJ
2nd row: Oates, Glenn, Riki, TPJ, Bullimore, Teo, Piakura, (Staggs?)

Could have a bench spot taken up by a hooker: Paix, Teo, Hetherington
In a real nightmare scenario (The Seibold special) we could have a hooker and a back on the bench with many of our forwards able to play big minutes.
The bigger worry for me is hooker or outside backs. 2 or 3 injuries to either of those positions and we are in big trouble.

Billy Walters can play hooker, and Segy’s a free agent. Not that Smith is likely to get injured.
