There's a lack of quality wingers in the NRL at the moment, compared to previous times.

Yeah, there seams to be a shortage of "actual" specialised wingers. By that I mean most of today's wingers come through the grades playing other positions, however because they are too good to be playing lower grades or way too talented to leave out of the first grade squad that they get picked on the wing. Most of the times they are just biding their time till they get to play their preferred position.

It's concerning how were no longer producing quality wingers. The likes of Sailor, Hancock, Tuqiri etc. The last quality winger we produced was JYY

TBF, imagine what a legend he'd be by now ...

Thats because many players these days think playing wing is beneath them, and they want to move off the wing as soon as possible.

Bring in a Fijian winger. They know how to finish tries. I wish we'd signed Sisa Waqa instead of the Raiders.

this guy has sparks of brilliance amongst large amounts of really bad.

I disagree, wingers now are scoring tries that no other era has been able to. Lote, Hancock, Carne or Dell didn't score tries like they do now.

That's always happened, who used to play on the wing in rep teams and their club side- ET, Shearer, Scott, Currie, Close, O'Connor.

That's true. I'm talking about quantity of quality wingers though. Like who is in the running for the Australian wing spots. Brett Morris, a bunch of centres and some fullbacks.
