Trial results

Interesting! Michaels on the wing...perhaps they're looking at that given the losses of Yow Yeh and Hoffman.

Hoffman will be right for fins trial... Anyone know whats the go with Winterstein? injured, out of favor or get a run at fins?

Michaels has always been a better winger than centre I reckon,

Yeah I figured they were just going through the less-definite trial options. Winterstein's position is not under threat.

I think it might have something to do with the fact that Kemp is just coming back from injury. I'm keen to see how Norman goes, I really like him.

It might also have something to do with the fact Kemp at 2/5 > Kemp at 1. Also agree that Sims is going to have a massive year. I think a NSW jumper awaits him.

Yup. And to back that up - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nZI7EJKAkQ

Thanks for the highlights reel.. He is amazing, on the wing or at fullback he will be unreal for the Broncos in 2010. The more he is in the game the better so I think fullback is his spot running off Lockyer and ready to use his lightning pace..

that video just highlights just how much karmichael hunt done for the team, and if the broncos are to continue that second man play that they have seemed to perfect over the years, then a player like corey norman, or gerard beale, would be more effective in the fullback spot in contrast to denan kemp, who is more of a finisher then creator.

No point trying to mould Beale or Norman into a mini KHUNT it is not worth it. Nobody will be as good as KHUNT was at that play IMO. Time to think of some new ideas IMO and maybe use the second many play every once in while rather than every second play the ball.

Pretty sure Billy Slater would be considered a finisher over a creator too. Unless you're playing for the other team in which case, he creates plenty.

Karmichael is gone, trying to replicate him with another player would be a mistake. Whoever plays fullback for for the Broncos needs to play to his own style, not Karmichael's.

I think that we can get some cheap points this year if our fullback is a fast, agile finisher. Spend the early parts of the game lining up in the same attacking structures that K was last passer/kicker in last season and watch the defence brace for it, when all of a sudden Kemp/Hoffman just cuts through to score himself.

Anyone going to this game?

Yo, me and the gf got tickets, its actually quite exciting for footy to be back - hope we drill them dirty canberrians

Another player injured, Nick Kenny is out of the trial match against the Raiders with an ankle injury only minor so I hear, Michael Spence replaces him.
