Brisbane should know within days whether prop Shane Tronc will be granted a release from Super League side Wakefield Trinity Wildcats to join them.
Wildcats coach John Kear has set a deadline of this week for the matter to be resolved. He confirmed Wildcats would be prepared to release Tronc from his two-year deal if a replacement front-rower could be brought in.
The list of possible recruits is believed to include James Stosic, who left Wakefield at the end of last season due to overseas quota restraints and is currently playing with Broncos affiliate side Easts Tigers.
``We haven't been able to find any replacement, so if he was to leave now it would purely be as a compassionate call,'' Kear told the Yorkshire Evening Post.``We need to have it resolved next week, that's the urgency of the situation not just for us. His demeanour is not one of a happy person. He is struggling.''
If we have spare cap space we may as well use it.tkday said:My pessimist side says that he will come and suck big time and be a waste of money.
True but when the team is 1-4 you need something to get excited about [icon_razz1tkday said:That's true, still we shouldn't get too excited.

4 of the best props of all time. flashy forwards are what you need AFTER youve got guys who will make 10m every time they carry the ball.
although im pretty sure last year he was a pretty handy offloader.

Donny, Tronc is a pretty basic front rower. No real offloading ability, no ball skills, no step. But he is a metre eater and a hard worker, we need that in the front row. He is big, he gets things moving, he makes good metres and he's no fuss. That's what we need. Our backrow has a lot of ball skills and creativity in it (Thaiday, Teo, Gillett, Parker), so if Tronc, Anderson, Kenny can just get metres and roll things forward, then our backline will do the rest.
