BRONCOS backrower Lagi Setu got his first start of the year for Brisbane against the Warriors at Suncorp Stadium yesterday.

But incredibly, in five days he could be standing opposite those same teammates after news he is set to join the Roosters.

It is understood Brisbane has tentatively agreed to release Setu on the proviso it can secure the services of former North Queensland prop Shane Tronc, who has requested a release from English Super League club Wakefield.

Tronc would be really good buy. He won't break the line much but he will get through 15-20 hitups and 30 tackles every game.

I was disappointed to see him leave the Cowboys.

From a Broncos point of view, hooray! Tronc is a no-nonsense forward who isn't afraid to put his body on the line. He'll hit the ball up and tackle his arse off all day.

This is great news.
Setu is no loss what so ever.

Tronc is a huge gain considering how weak we are upfront.

He offers all the below.
Experience
No nonsense attitude
a tackle machine
a good metre maker
and a big guy who dents the line.

Yay, if he comes next week or two he will be a big boost for us, it's obvious we are really missing a prop and instead have 40 backrowers to make up for it. One less backrower one more prop = Win Win.

Please come, if he is here before the Roosters game that will be awesome and my confidence in the Broncos making the 8 this year will boost a lot.

If we can get Hannant for next year as well our forward pack will actually be pretty good. Anderson, Kenny, Hannant, Tronc, not bad. A title shot is within reach barring injuries.

The counter argument is have we given Setu enough time?

(Personally, I think it may have been the wrong decision in the first place and its cut throat these days anyway)

Sigh - This means Setu will play like crapola for the rest of the year... his attitude and application to his game was hardly his best asset.

(Personally, I think it may have been the wrong decision in the first place and its cut throat these days anyway)

Even if he did play well we have no shortage of backrowers, we do not need him. Glenn, Parket, Gillet, Te'o, Sims, etc.

After yesterdays game i would be disppointed if he left us midway through this year.
Granted he didnt play 'great' and missed a few tackles but at least he made a pressence.
It wasnt until the last 10 minutes that i realised Dodds and Mcguire were playing.

Really? Look at what happened with Taylor last year. His attitude and application to his game were pretty crapola - until he signed with the bunnies, then he went great guns.

Losing Setu is another loss for might Tigers as well. Broncos better be providing some compensation.

The Brisbane front row just went from average to good. Tronc had his best year last year hopefully he can keep that form up.
