Tyson Gamble

Any of:

6.
14.
17. (Preferable)

6. Mam rightfully has a lock on the 6 jumper
14. none of our hooking options can play 80, so we need a back up hooker on the bench to work in tandem with the starter. Gamble isn't suited to this role
17. waste of a spot. not fit enough to play a middle forward role. would literally only be there if Reynolds or Mam went down.

I get people love Gamble ... and I do to, but realistically speaking at full strength he doesn't make our best 17

i think gamble at 17 or what ever number you want to give him works if carrigan and haas start 8 and 10 with flegler and jensen on the bench, would need hetherington to start at 13 and play big mins.

Did more Minutes at 17 then nearly any other 17 we have used injuries forcing otherwise not included.

The Bench lock role worked when he played there, watch the titans game and see how we got our points.

Why sir.....?

He's a half by trade......he's got ball skills. He can pass....and has half a brain when he see's a gap.

Can tackle..aggressively.

??

I think alot of Halves can transition to Hooker, but the tall ones like Gamble would struggle, He is more of a Half/Lock type then a Half/Hooker type.

Hooker has lots of bending down and a need to be fast out of the box which both favour a shorter player, he could probably do it if we had 2 of our 3 top 30 hookers out but it wouldn't be ideal, I would actually favour Kelly more for that role he is pretty nuggety.

Yeah, I think if you can get 50-55mins out of kobe with his defence and generating momentum with quick play the balls, and then 30-25mins who offers intensity, mongrel and half level balls skills that would be ideal.

Having gamble also offers good injury cover.

He will need to work on that, I said before elsewhere when it comes to Kobe he needs to add about 15 mins to his average time in the middle(it's currently at around 35 mins) to allow Patty to be the prop, otherwise he would be better off putting on a bit more size and moving to prop.

I think Patty is a better Ball player then Kobe from what I've seen so either way would work for him.

like the two games Gamble played in Lock he was doing similar minutes as Kobe does when he rotates with Patty(though he did way more minutes when he was rotating with Gamble).

it's possible he can already do those minutes though and his time is limited by Kevvie preferring Patty there, which I think would be a waste, Patty can play as a lock when he is in Prop anyway and has when put there, there isn't much difference between the two positions, you can easily have ball playing props with the ball playing locks at the same time.

Realistically, he's only covering 6 & 7, so he's going to spend a long time in the Cup waiting for injury to Reynolds or Mam. On the plus side for him, Reynolds goes down every other week so being front of the backup half queue mightn't be so bad. But if he can work on his dummy half fitness, he would expand his usefulness as a utility dramatically. I would love to see him on the bench as 14, but going by that interview it doesn't sound like that's likely to happen. And like he says, he's facing the same obstacles as Oates did trying to break into the forwards. We have some serious talent there. Join an even longer queue.

....and so ends the Kevolution.

With wierd team lists, terrible bench management, the biggest ladder choke in NRL history and the banishment of our lord and savior Sir Gamble.

Followup to podcast:

The thing is.......the podcast was forgotten about pretty quickly and Gambles comments whilst raising an eyebrow or two immediately at the time.....went mostly unnoticed......

then weeks later, Dobbo 🙄 ......brings it up again recently on a slow news day

and speaking of,
who supposedly had two "unnamed" players tell him they weren't happy with the KW after game spray?
...... Dobbo. 🙄

You see where I'm going with this.....?

Ben Dobbin is a complete fuckstick....who would have done the world an enormous favour had he carked it after having a heart attack a year or so ago.

If I'm the Broncos......I'm completely banning that fuckwit from ever speaking or having anything to do with the Broncos..... ever again.

I hope he grabs his spot at the knights and goes places. Loved the way he plays the game but I honestly think his ceiling is too short to be a full time half. Sort of a lite version of Josh Reynolds.

Unlikely to happen whilst ever his good mate Kev is still coaching the team.

He’s turpin 2.0 , with consistent game time his small bag of tricks would have him just going through the motions.
