Tyson Gamble

I think Gamble can be a good player at first grade level if he converts into a Lock.

I do wonder how much of people going on about Tyson is because he never got the chance during the second half of the season.

We all for the most part said how good Paix is and it was ridiculous he wasn't in the side ahead of Turpin.. until he was, then he wasn't that much better and now, nobody cares about Paix. It's about the club buying a hooker externally. I get the feeling Gamble would have fallen in that category.

I care very much about Paix and have been vocal in criticism of him not being in there. He got injured and then thrown under the bus to keep Turpin and/or Walters in there for some reason despite both of them sucking as well.

if he hadn't have shit the bed when he came back from injury then he may have been able to keep Turpin out of the side.

it's a shame really. we needed him to be better.

oh and FTR, despite BHQ whinging about Billy ... they rated him as one of our best 17 players for the year

He wasn't even that bad but knee injuries suck. He then did come back to his early season level in Q Cup for the last two rounds and couldn't get a look in. I can accept up until that point but his last two rounds were excellent, he should at the very worst have been back in for the must win clashes.

He tackled like a demon; his attacking offering was minimal. Hardly ran, scored one try. I said at the time he was barely running- averaged 32m over his last three games including one metre against Dolphins.

My comment was he needed to be selfish and run 10 times a game, and he didn't do it. He played it safe and made 30 tackles.

There would of been a bit of that, but I liked him in that bench lock role, it just worked and in the second and last game he was used in that role he was involved in all of our points, but after that he wasn't used there again, it was a wasted opportunity to atleast see it out longer.

making it work against the likes of the Titans is one thing ... making it work against the likes of the Storm and the Eels is another thing al together (especially when you also still need a specialist hooker on the bench)

Didn’t paix only come back for one game against the tigers?

Kobe Hetherington was playing that role.
