A lot of League players have Rugby backgrounds. Ponga, Murray, Suaalii, A. Crichton, Warea-Hargreaves, Gagai, S. Walker, Riki etc.

I would be surprised if the majority of NRL players haven't played union in some form before, especially the NZ based players, it's not that they preferred it but it was just there at the time.

I've never liked Union but even I did a season of it for my school because it was either that or play soccer.
