Lockyer is a far better defender than Norman.

Look, Coxy brings up some good points about Hunt but to me it'd be the lesser of all evils. If Norman plays I could just see T-Rex scoring a hat-trick.

But I think that's why Gillett is being considered. Thaiday/Teo, Gillett, Hodges, Yow Yeh are all good defenders, solid front on and good lateral movement. That'll help lock down that left side attack.

Gillett himself isn't a bad attacking player, does have a kicking game (not used in first grade much thus far), can pass, and can create something out of nothing. He's no Lockyer, obviously, but he will be serviceable.

Hunt would be a better option than Norman. He's been playing well, his passes are sharp and he's been playing first grade all year.

If we must rest Macca then have Glenn shift to hooker and Gillett come on.

My issue is he doesn't offer the same skill-set as a Ben Hunt. His kicking, passing and even organisation isn't up to par and I'd struggle to think he's spent as much time running drills as a half as Hunt has.

With that said, I suppose I'll just have to suck it up and hope that it pays off and if it doesn't, that Hook recognises this and brings Hunt on.

I really think Hook will pick Gillett.

Gillett will bet here as an extra forward primarily, but also do some general kicking and playmaking. Primarily he'll be there to tough out the start.
I reckon after the usual 25-30 minutes, he'll substitute Macca for Hunt.
At the 55-60 minutes mark he'll bring Macca back on, and substitute another forward.
Hunt stay on to play in the halves, hoping that if the Broncos are on top physically that he might be able to spark something in attack that Gillett can't.

That's my bet.

No. Just because you get a hardon for any player under the age of 22 that plays in a Broncos jersey, doesn't mean I'm going to give them credit where I don't think it's due. Norman is a dud.

Just because you don't rate anyone till they have played 300 games won 3 premierships and captained origin doesn't mean some of these kids have talent.

Norman has talent but throwing him into the deep end in a game like this would do him and the team no favours.

If he has a big off-season he could be the ideal replacement for Locky.
