Just watching the Wallabies vs Fiji. Awesome to watch Izzy and K.Hunt. Izzy's skillset is incredible, Took a cross field catch to score a try already and has done a few good cut out passes to create breaks

All Blacks haka coming up ...

meh. Back to the league. Will flick back a few times to see how things are going but it looks like everything is the status quo in RU land.

Curtis Rona playing for the Wallabies.

I don't follow union at all but this surely speaks volumes of where the Wallabies team is at. Curtis Rona wouldn't even be in conversations to make the Kangaroos team.

Was surprised to see Rona, didnt really make the connection till later in the game. ABs had to field their bench for the Wallabies to start scoring points lol

suck shit old boys, enjoy the pinot as you watch your code sink before your eyes.

Pretty sure its already sunk. Couldn't even afford 5 super teams. I don't think 4 will last either. Its getting wiped out here at a very fast rate. Now that League has the money to compete with them for superstars they aren't leaking any more of them now days. You only really hear of wingers going to union now who are a dime a dozen in the NRL (Korobeite, Rona, Nabuli)

And the wa state government might sue the aru for 100mill lol

The loss of a Aussie super rugby team is due to the reduction of teams in that comp.

SA lost one as well

The performances of the aussie conference also had something to do with it. NZ didn't lose a team if you noticed

The SA-NZ alliance is the only thing propping up the ARU. If SA, as it is being currently explored, decide to move to a european competition instead, the region is screwed. No one is going to want to pay good money to see the NZ teams (and their national team) beat the piss out of our club sides and our national team. All the broadcasting money comes from overseas.

It would make more sense too for SA to join the European comps, as despite still having large distances to bridge, they wouldn't have to cope with the time difference.
NZ would be the biggest victims, as it would likely cost them heaps of sponsor and broadcast dollars, which would in turn see all their stars move to SA/Europe.

It's a shame the game played in heaven has gone to hell. We just don't have the calibre of players we used to. Superstars across the park, Lynagh, Farr-Jones, Eales, Horan, Campo to name just a few.

Why don't we just go back to the good ol days of Super 10's/12's take the Reds back to Ballymore and get some tribalism back in the game. NZ are so far ahead it's ridiculous as is SA.

Two of em actually. The teams are still there, they're just playing in a European comp.
