Wallace has to go

Well if the team list is correct, Wallace has to go ... and get the ball to either T'eo or Glenn in the centres. That'll be fun.

I bet I know where the Raiders are going to play a lot of this game.

I have no idea where they're going to direct their attack when our defence is hopeless right across the paddock.

What side would you guys like to see then?

1. Lockyer
2. Hancock
3. Renouf
4. Hodges
5. Sailor
6. Walters
7. Langer
8. Webcke
9. Priddis
10. Civoniceva
11. Tallis
12. Thorn
13. Carroll

14. Lazarus
15. Thaiday
16. Parker
17. Walters

Coach - Ivan Henjack

I think they might test the defensive speed of our outside backs, or are they forwards?

That'd be nice...

I couldn't give Priddis a spot despite deserving it. Little grubby bastard... Very mixed feelings when he left. Loved the quality of his game but geez I don't like him.

Great to see someone else like this. I was exactly the same when he left. Great player but complete douche IMO

Heh, it's a hooker's job to be a sleazy, niggling little ****. It's what they get paid for.

I don't think we have the likes of an 06 Hodges or Berro to call in. That was a gutsy move & a bit of a masterstroke from Bennett. In hindsight, it doesn't take a genius to shift your most lethal players into positions where they'd get their hands on the ball more often but hiding their flaws and making it work in the biggest game was telling.

Wayne never gets enough respect for that, it always gets trivialised to 'the refs won us the game'. By that logic, they screwed us of a premiership from 01-03 & 05 but of course you never hear about it when the Broncos get screwed outside of us fans.

With our current squad, if we were doing the 06 scramble it'd probably look like...

1. Gerard Beale
2. Josh Hoffman
3. Jack Reed
4. Justin Hodges
5. Dale Copley
6. Andrew McCullough
7. Ben Hunt
8. Ben Hannant
9. Kurt Baptiste
10. Josh McGuire
11. Alex Glenn
12. Ben Te'o
13. Corey Parker (c)

14. Peter Wallace
15. Sam Thaiday
16. Petero Civoniceiva
17. Matt Gillett

Could even drop Reed and shift Copley into centre with Maranta on the wing.

I'm not saying Hook should run with that side, but it'd be pretty fun to watch especially if it paid off.

That would be about as much fun as stabbing a pencil into my eye

So, exactly the same as what we're doing right now?

The problem you have Pete is you've made too many changes. It is nothing like what Bennett did in 2006. Bennett made 2 changes. You've changed the captain and made changes that are just completely left field. If we were to make similar changes it would be Hunt to 7, Wallace to 6 with Norman or Beale to fullback.

It wasn't a serious suggestion.

But you're wrong, Bennett made more than 2 changes.

1. Hodges to fullback
2. Hunt to wing; Tupou dropped
3. Stagg to centres
4. Perry to halfback; Seymour dropped/released
5. Berrigan to hooker; McGuire benched
6. Thaiday to second row; Parker benched
7. Carlaw to bench; Eastwood dropped

Perry played 20 games massive change.
Carlaw played 20 games massive change
McGuire played off the bench 11 times massive change late in the season

Plus the 2 major changes meant 4 players changed position.

what was grubby about Priddis? :S
Is hard to pick sarcasm on the internet sometimes so I'm not sure if you're serious...

He's not a real dirty player, per se, but I think he is pretty widely regarded as a bit of a grub in the game. Hindmarsh (I think?) had a bit of a go at him in the media a few years ago, there was that thing with him stomping Cronk. He's always just a little bit... I don't know the word. He gets at people. It's very effective in the hooking role but I always thought he took it a bit too far. Not a likeable person.

You never said anything about 'major' changes so don't try and shift the goal posts after the fact.

All those changes listed happened around the same time and evidently played a big role in our turn-around that year.
