It's easy to bang on about negatives and ignore positives when it suits an agenda. I'm not saying I don't disagree with what you're saying here. But I'm not going to ignore the amount of good he's done at the club, just so I can say he's been rubbish. This club is in a very, very good position, and I assure you, that's not because of Paul White and his exceptional people and recruitment skills.

I'm not disagreeing with any of what you're saying, nobody is saying he's been rubbish, the club is in a great spot because of a lot of what he's done. I'm just saying it's quite clear that his actual coaching ability is declining, which contrary to popular belief is actually what we pay him for.

FTR, as I have said, I think Bennett should see out his contract, and for us to go in a different direction in 2020 ... how long can the club allow Bennett to live off his reputation and past achievements

How long? Don't bring questions in the mix that aren't part of the argument. He's going. But you seem to have it in your head that this team, as it is today, is in a worse position than it was at the end of 2014.

Life is all about perception, and how other people perceive you. Sorry if I've assumed something incorrectly based on some aggressive responses in threads here.

I know what you're saying. I dispute what you're saying. I think it's lunacy to say that this club is worse off since he returned just because we got an unexpected GF in 15, and couldn't back it up.

Why? Souths are a chance next year regardless of who coaches. They are paper thin in depth, so they need an injury free season like they had this year.

Well let me ask you this? Why are we punting Bennett? If it’s because the board think he can’t win a comp, and then he goes and wins a comp, then that’s on them.
By your reckoning, is it not true that we are also a chance regardless of who coaches?

Next year is looking likely if Bennett wants out now. I can't see the club standing in his way.
