Bennett said the same thing when he returned to us ... he didn't deliver
You can’t be judged on not winning premierships when the competition is in the fairytale business.

He didn't say that. He said he would get the Broncos back contending for titles in 4-5 years time. He said it would take time after six years of **** ups and he was inheriting a basket case. He has a .640 winning pctg in that time and whilst there isn't any silverware, he is still our best chance of success again. But now that he is probably gone for good, it is a fucking lottery now and the future is uncertain.

The 2019 swap makes sense for both parties, sure it would've been nice to have a send off season for Bennett, he deserved it, but this option is the best for business.

From a non-partisan standpoint, would you really want to give Wayne an extra 12 months to sink his hooks in to TPJ & other young players / coaching staff who he'd no doubt groom to take with him to Sydney? The best thing for us as a club is 100% to end it immediately, rip the band-aid right off, don't draw out the agony another 12 months.

It'll also better for Wayne I imagine, could you envision the criticism he would've got after losses next season? "Bennett is obviously too busy house hunting in Sydney to coach the team"

Dude. Close enough. We were winners by regulation time in 2015. Don't shit in an IKEA toilet you know you can't flush

Well shit. Seibold better get us a 2019 premiership for me to get un-upset.

I would just be happy with consistent performances and some of the changes to the ‘strange’ selection choices many of us have bemoaned particularly over the past season.

Siebold seems a pretty level headed guy who shouldn’t have any emotional baggage with certain players and I for one think that will be a pretty refreshing change.

that wasn't even remotely close enough ...

we were tied not winners by regulation time and we LOST the GF in extra time ... we should be satisfied by losing GF's just because it happen in extra time

looks like Rusty will be getting the hole punch out to add a few pages to the book of feuds.

You're still on this? I responded to you the other day and you didn't reply. Along the lines of, if you think the Broncos went backwards in the time Bennett has been here, you're off your rocker.

2015 - 2nd & runners up
2016 - 5th & semi-finals
2017 - 3rd & prelim-finals
2018 - 6th & Elimination final

seams like a backwards trend to me ... we went from runners up to week 1 cannon fodder

We still have Oates, TPJ and Lodge unsigned, and Roberts may fancy a return to his first club. Wouldn't rule out at least one of them ending up at South's if Wayne goes there.

It does make a fair bit of sense for Wayne to go to Souths, much more talent than the Tigers and then there is a connection with the English boys.

It will certainly be interesting to see if Seibold can turn around the attitude and get the desperation back in our team next year.

It also does make me wonder what JD does if Seibold comes, does he move on?

Seibold seems to be in the same mold as Henjak and Hook. Medium intelligence, blames the ref after losses. He's only a "run of the mill" coach. He'll be inheriting a team that should be making regular assaults on the premiership in the very near future. Anything less that will be career ending for him.

Medium intelligence? Dafuq?

I wanted Bennett's fucking Fairytale 2019 Premiership. He deserved it.
Yes of course but he always wanted to coach Souths and may well have his wish. Absolutely no guarantee he would get a premiership if he continued or indeed if he continues.

I appreciate the poetic license there, but Bennett was complimentary of the roster Griffin had built. I can't find the clip, but I believe it was during the 2015 season on Broncos TV where he downplayed the changes he brought and just had to fix the minor things that win football matches.

Outside of that, he rarely spoke about Hook. From memory the only quips he made concerned Granville and the bench. Something about how he couldn't figure out why the previous coach was so hesitant to use his interchange forwards until the Round 1 loss against Souths.

Otherwise you're spot on.

unfortunately the NRL would never allow this to happen ... neither Bennett nor the Broncos are eligible for a fairytale
