Pete a little bit behind the times.
Pete a little bit behind the times.
2015 - 2nd & runners up
2016 - 5th & semi-finals
2017 - 3rd & prelim-finals
2018 - 6th & Elimination final
seams like a backwards trend to me ... we went from runners up to week 1 cannon fodder
- Recruitment
- Juniors
- Injury backup that works
- A new kicker who can actually kick
- Got rid of a shitty half back when his contract was up
Like, just so we are on the same page. You actually think we've gone backwards compared to when we actually did go backwards when this bloke wasn't working for us?
In saying that, I reckon if the club came out tomorrow and said "Actually, nah, Wayne will sign till 2022" you would change your tune and back him till the cows came home.
That’s cherry picking. The debate is whether we’ve gone backwards since Wayne came back. We haven’tIs it even a debate if we've gone backwards since 2015? It's a statistical fact. I'm talking exclusively about on field performances, not recruitment & junior development etc. If you look at our defensive numbers since 2015, they've got exponentially worse every year, and we've got pretty much the same core group of players, I don't think Adam Blair & the final season of Corey Parker would account for a 142 point differential defensively, I think it's a coaching issue or roster management issue, both of which are on Wayne.

Of course i would support him as the Broncos coach ... just like i will with Seibold (despite me wanting Maguire to get the job) or i would have with JD or Walters if they had gotten the job.
If that happens, White and Karl whatshisface can go the following day. Dare I say it, even Locky can go play with Gus and co full time at Nine.Imagine if Wayne wins a premiership at Souths next year.
He did say iirc words to the effect - you might not know it but you don’t need me - when referring to him knocking back the Broncs and us getting Griffin.I appreciate the poetic license there, but Bennett was complimentary of the roster Griffin had built. I can't find the clip, but I believe it was during the 2015 season on Broncos TV where he downplayed the changes he brought and just had to fix the minor things that win football matches.
Outside of that, he rarely spoke about Hook. From memory the only quips he made concerned Granville and the bench. Something about how he couldn't figure out why the previous coach was so hesitant to use his interchange forwards until the Round 1 loss against Souths.
Otherwise you're spot on.

Yeah but it's different than wanting a different coach than the one we are apparently getting. You're saying that you're basically a puppet to the club. The club don't want Wayne, **** Wayne. Club wants Wayne, I loves Wayne.
It's easy to bang on about negatives and ignore positives when it suits an agenda. I'm not saying I don't disagree with what you're saying here. But I'm not going to ignore the amount of good he's done at the club, just so I can say he's been rubbish. This club is in a very, very good position, and I assure you, that's not because of Paul White and his exceptional people and recruitment skills.
