When have Brisbane ever said they don't want him? They have repeatedly said they do want him? It seems he wants to leave / that he promised the rabitohs he would be there for 2019. The Broncos have said multiple times that he is staying. That should have been the end of it.

It's hard to pin the blame all on Bennett when we don't really know what has transpired. If he wants to keep coaching, good for him. He might just have to do it somewhere else.

I dont see any reason to attack the bloke. He is just trying to look after himself first which is what 99% of people would do.

Darius’ chat was pretty good. Displays the frustration the players are feeling I think. Whilst you would assume once the coaching saga is sorted, the media will storm will calm but that won’t happen. They have been relentless all year, before a ball was kicked..they hounded Lodge, the halves and now the coaching saga. They have had a field day.
I can see them now working on the next couple of months stories with how disappointed the players are at the way the club treated Bennett blah blaahhh blaaaah.
It would be naive to think the media won’t find something else within Brisbane after this.

Where has he said he has promised to be at the Rabbits next year? Or is that just from the media? You say Broncos have said multiple times they want him here next year, you fail to mention Bennett has said the same thing.

And I think Brisbane have made it perfectly clear they don't want him as coach when his contract is up.

He always bragged about knowing when to call time on a player’s career early yet he’s going to be coaching into his 70s and seemingly ruining his legacy in the process. If he doesn’t win a comp with Souths then he’s absolutely diminished his standing in the annals of RL history.
