Why not make a big money play for Bellamy after he leaves the Storm to try and change his mind about retiring

Someone else struggling when he's only got ordinary players ....??

EDIT: Off topic.

I can't see that Bennett could have done any better with Brisbane with the cattle that Griffin has had......

Bennett would never have gone into a season with the cattle the broncos have had the last two years ... But to Griffin, it was acceptable.

He went into the season with Kidley as his first choice hooker.

Null and void.

Gidley at hooker >>>>> Hoffman in the halves

Last two years...

Any excuse ay?

Pretty self explanatory Shark...

His judging of talent hasn't been much better at Newcastle at the moment. While he used to be very good at knowing when to tap players on the shoulder, that's escaped him at the Knights so they're seeing guys like Kidley spend far too much time at the club.

Knights fans are also quick to point out how sick they are of seeing him pick and stick with players like Houston, Fa'alogo, Waddell and sound very similar to Brisbane fans...except they're in an even worse spot than we are.

Darren Lockyer on Wayne Bennett

* JUST on Wayne Bennett, I wasn’t surprised at his decision to quit the Knights. Will he come back to Brisbane?

There seems to be interminable talk about Wayne coming home to the Broncos but the only way the club will move on from Wayne is if it becomes successful without him.

Everyone at the club, coach Anthony Griffin included, is striving for success.

Right now, Brisbane are doing OK, but ultimately clubs are judged on results and every coach accepts that.

Knowing Wayne, I can’t see him taking on a coaching director’s role. Not yet anyway.

Wayne is very much a hands-on mentor and I think he still has a desire to be a head coach.

Wherever Wayne goes, he will take a great work ethic and be inclined to be the main man in the trenches doing his thing. I don’t know if that will ever change.

Locky also thought Bennett was heading back in 2011 too, so take it for what it's worth.

Remember Locky is now a Broncos director. .. maybe he is trying to tell us something!!!

If anything Lockyer's trying to say he's not coming back.

Bennett's exit from us and the Dragons both came about in April so I bet he was planning to leave after three years regardless just like he did at the Dragons but stayed on for a bit longer after what happened to McKinnon.

That's what I was referring to

Still reckon the Coast.....

I love how I keep reading about trying to 'move on from Bennett' because that's been so successful

The Coast just don't have the money to get Bennett IMO.
