That's really not how depression works. It's not a case of just getting really really sad. Hopefully people show him some respect and don't start trying to trivialize this

I'm not trivializing this at all. He clearly was already depressed but this just heightened his sense of depression, made him upset, etc. Call it what you will, but when you are depressed, hopefully, eventually u realise it so u can seek help, and this might have been the trigger that really hit home.

U dont have to disagree with me for the sake of it.

When did he say anything about how depression works? Usually theres something that happens to cause someone to get help, and in this instance it very well could have been Bennett telling him that he can't come with him to the Broncos.

Yeh but they will say its not their fault.

Regarding his playing future, I wouldn't mind him at the broncos in the centres/backline but at a substantiated cost. 300k would be the max we could fork out for him and if he wants to play for that, then come on board.

Nope I'm not interested in signing him and we've already got enough fullbacks and wingers and anybody with a brain can see why he would want to come here.

I wish him all the best in his recovery from depression, poor bloke.

I remember reading a rumour a while back about him having marital issues (Mole / Lurker/etc). Coupled with this recent hotel room incident (while staying with his wife, reportedly) , I'd say his depression is likely a result of marriage difficulties?

Regarding a potential return, I wouldn't actively pursue him, but I wouldn't be opposed to him coming on board for the right price. Media darling he isn't but he is a proven commodity at the top level.

To be fair, if he didn't have issues he deserved it. His media behavior is atrocious. I'd like to think a result of his illness and he will come back and not be a dickhead.

How's that fair? He doesn't like the media because of the treatment he got with the Thaiday, Hunt bathroom incident which was blown up by the media and to this day people call him a rapist (Which isn't even what happened) and put him up there with wife beaters such as Lui and Bird. Why the **** would he want to talk to those people?

There was an article on his birthday asking people on twitter what they'd get him for his birthday and it was all ridiculous things. That's one way to get the man to talk to the media, that's for sure..

I've heard from people in newcastle that he has split from his missus. Take it with a grain of salt, but supposedly he's been "caught with a second mobile phone" a few times lol.

Because this is a game that pays him big money. Something that is only afforded by public interest in the game. He and all players owe a certain level of engagement IMO.

Because he is paid to act in a professional manner.

But it's ok for Ben Te'o to hold a grudge? For coaches to apply media bans on their players? ****, with that attitude and you guys at the helm you would make public facebooks, instagrams and twitters compulsory for every NRL player and force them to answer every single fan question that is asked. They are entitled to live their lives without the scrutiny of the media.

Has the NRL ever complained about his lack of social skills towards the media? Has he really put the game into disrepute by not answering their questions with the same ridiculous answers every other rugby league player answers with?

And I couldn't give a **** if he tweets or updates his status but at the very least he can answer a few questions about the game that pays him so well. How the **** is that intruding on his life?

So if numerous journalists spoke shit about Te'o it would be ok? Stop picking and choosing based on your opinion of the person. The media have obviously created a lot of drama in Boyds life and if he wants to give them nothing then so be it. How does it effect you to the point where you think your opinion even matters? The guy obviously doesn't want to be met with reporters and cameras when leaving a hotel. Get over it.
