We need a goal kicker

You see stats dont' tell the full story, like where he kicked the goals from, the conditions, etc.
However, I will agree when in form he can be like a radar, but when out of form his kicking can be simply shocking which i think he is so far.

Anyway, I think it could be to his benefit if he didnt' have to worry about kicking tbh.

Yes stats don't always tell the full story, so I'm assuming that you've taken close notice of Parker's form over the years right bronopwn?

So you would have seen the 2-3 sideline kicks he did against the Bulldogs in the Preliminary final in 2006...right?
Yep and he silenced the crowd too with it. Like i said when in form he can be radar like and kick every goal (kicked 10/10 last year to start i think) but he is very inconsistent, sometime h will nail the hardest kicks, and miss the easiest ones.

Maybe the worst regular goal kicker is a bit harsh, but he is very inconsistent and you can never be confident about him kicking.

Simply put, I want to see someone else have a go, folau being one i would like to see.

Parker has proven over the last 4 seasons that he is an adequate goal kicker, yet after 3 rounds you want him punted. Hell, even after 1 round you wanted him punted. Ridiculous.

Yes, at the moment his radar is off but it'll come good. He has nailed a few from the sideline this season too.

We should get rid off Parker and make a play for El Masri, I think the Broncos backline could do with some experience.

Tonie Carroll should be brought back, he had a cracker of a shot last season.

I was actually hoping that folau would kick before the season started, I'm nto basing it on 3 rounds, I've simply never had confidence in him as a kicker mainly because he can be very hot and cold with his goal kicking, when he's hot he won't miss a goal, but when he's out of form he misses easy ones like he has so far this season.

IF he gets form than good, I don't really care, I have nothing against parker, I was one of the few who was sticking up for him even last year, I just want someone else to have a go, i'm not asking for too much, just like some on this forum think some players are awesome when i think they're not or the other way around, I think corey is a very inconsistent (not bad, just not so good ), and would really like to see if we have anything better, besides devere, I can't remember the broncos ever having a goal kicker who was good, parker is average, good is devere, covell, thurston, el masri, witt, burt - average is cam smith, parker, orford, etc.

Regards,

Phil Gould.[/quote:1ip4gm4x]

lol, I was bagging his goal kicking last season too, but to a lesser extent because I knew we had no replacements, now we have devere (who may very well play, and folau).

Yes, but let me explain. Phil Gould is a master of stating, after something has happened, that "I was saying before the game/series/season that this would happen"...of course, he wouldn't state WHERE he said it, or whether it was on public record, but it makes him sound like nostradamus when really he's just a John Edward.....

Now would be the time for Winterstein, Yow Yeh, or Glenn to increase their value and therefore chances of selection by putting in the hours of kicking practice every day.

He sits on the fence beforehand and speculates about every possible outcome, so that when one of them comes to pass, he can say he said it.

lol, but I've said it a few times last season, just wasn't very vocal about it cause we had no real replacments.

Anyway who cares, me whinging on this forum is not going to change our goal kicker!

Mate you're entitled to your opinion, just because others disagree with it, doesn't mean your wrong or indeed that they are wrong. I personally think Parker is a reasonable kicker, and he maybe just having a slow start to the season.

Just in case, I was talking about Gould, not you icon_smile

Sounds like somebody has hit a nerve on this topic. I was only wondering last week against the Warriors what has happened to Parkers kicking, he was great last year, I'm sure he will get it right.

BUMP,
Good on ya corey parker, You have certainly given me humble pie, you have been kicking awesome for the last two weeks and I hope you can keep it up, and hopefully you can crack a QLD jersey this year.

"hopefully you can crack a QLD jersey this year"
highly unlikely but i dont care for him in QLD, keep kicking for us i say.

Well there is a spot or two available, myles may not be selected, and crocker is not their anymore.

parker has been playing well enough for a SOO jersey IMO, but i dont think we'd do to well without him...so with the players in our team that we are going to lose i kinda hope he doesnt get one...were really gonna need him come origin
