I'd have Tate over Hodges purely on defence.

Hodges is a shirt grabbing turnstyle at the best of times let alone after shoulder surgery.

Hodges' defence problems are mostly in his attitude though. On the (very) rare occasions he decides he wants to put in he pulls off some cracker tackles. If he comes back with a clear head his defence will be 10x better.

But I agree re Tate. I'd have him over Hodges unless ALL aspects of Hodges' game improve greatly.

Tate's attitude in defence in game 2 and 3 (run near me and I will smash ya) lifted the team and NSW didnt go his side as much.

Tate is a rep specialist. He always plays better at rep level than club.

Hodges is the opposite. He's always underperformed at rep level, but regularly been a star at club level.

Tate has been good in finals too, he is just comes up big on big occasions, but is average a lot of the time in club football and Hodges is exactly the opposite as you suggest Coxy, he has all the talent in the world but just hasn't put that into one full excellent 80 minute rep match.

Yep...and that's another point. When Hodges does get fired up he tends to lose the plot and act like a dick. Tate gets into it, but he also plays damn well and doesn't cross the line.

I want the titans to be successful as it's vital to the expansion of league, I don't really have a problem with them however last season they got a bit cocky at times and it pissed me off tbh.
