Agree schmix. I took lockyer47's post to mean that they were disappointed how Johns' career was really cut short because of injury and couldn't go out on his terms. And that they hope the same doesn't happen to Locky.

Jeb, your amazing.... football knowledge would have you know that Andrew Johns broke his jaw thus missing much of the first half of 2005 coinciding with their massive losing streak. He was there during the second half of the year for their miraculous recovery (they lost 13 games in a row and almost avoided the spoon). The team suffered injuries all year particularly early on and despite not being fully fit Johns destroyed QLD in Origin and was crowned Dally M Rep player of the year. Also remember the fact that Lockyer has played with an embarrassment of riches his entire career where on many occasions Johns has had mediocre teammates to rely on. In short only a moron or someone so blinded by hatred/bias would even bring a wooden spoon into an argument about Johns and Lockyer.

Won 8 and Lost 8 = 50% record which gets you into the finals every single year. You add to that he had a side full of mediocre players, to be honest you pointing out 8 and 8 = spoon shows you either took no time to come up with a decent argument or that you are extremely stupid.

I was defensive about a great player who gets little to no credit for what he did in this sport on this forum and I also retracted my original post if it was intended as some have suggested. Jeb for some reason can't get his little mind around the fact that John's was an all-time great of the game and the best halfback the game may have ever seen (though there could be debate about that).

I understand you retracted your original post, and I wouldn't have said another thing but you then went on with it. I just think your comments would have more of an impact if you saved them for when someone was actually attacking Johns, rather than wasting your time defending him against a wooden spoon joke.

Obviously you can say what you like though, I'm just letting you know that, in my opinion, you're coming across as a bit of a fanboy.

Johns has won the equal second most MOTM's in Origin with 4 tied with Langer, Fittler has won 0 thats right 0!

Also the point I made was about 2005 not in general at the Knights, Harragon, Kennedy, Tahu, MacDougall, O'Davis, Butterfield were all not at the club or retired and Perry (ROFLZ outside of the 2001 Grand Final he was rubbish for the Knights), Rauhihi (once again hadn't become the better player he developed into while at the Knights like Perry), Hughes was well past his best, Kurt (was an accident prone kid who couldn't figure out what position he wanted to play) and Matt Gidley (was beyond his best and was less impressive with his sidekick Tahu gone).

I see how you read my post but outside of most of the guys you mentioned plus a few more compared to the giant list of guys you could make that have played with Lockyer here in Brisbane it would be triple at least in size.

Not at all I posted in another thread how great the 2001 backline was and the backrow was excellent as well (Kennedy, Simpson and Peden), just saying Lockyer has had FAR more help over the span of his career and that in 2005 the Knights had a crap squad compared to what the had a few years previous.

Well owned is subjective, he does have 4 MOTM's and Fittler has 0 (though that does surprise me). TBH No NSW player has ever owned Origin like both Lewis and Langer did. With more opportunities (denied by moronic selection at hooker or through being overlooked earlier in his career) he may well have done so, he definitely had the talent and the ability to come up big at big moments.
