Well, I think I may have lost a bit of speed... but on the positive side of things, I wouldn't stand around looking at the opposition players scoring tries, and more importantly, next to me, no one would notice Bird's "importance".

Don’t get why the fingers are only pointed at Bird - has anybody noticed the big blob aka Thaiday running around in his ‘body armour’.
He hasn’t had a disrupted pre-season so what’s his excuse??

That’s probably why he’s so good defensively - can’t bounce off those layers of ‘muscle’ (hint the HEAVY levels of SARCASM!!)

We've got a very good side with one major exception. We don't have a real organising halfback. That's the biggest thing stopping us from being top tier IMO. It makes a big difference.

We don't have a real captain/fullback either.

Because Thaiday has always been fat. Wayne’s just happy that he’s finally quit the durries.

I dont see the point in chopping and changing players now, especially with the younger guys who need a run of games to get used to the NRL and get some consitency. If we see some of these younger guys like Opacic, Issako, Haas, Sua etc as long term players give them a run and let them develop. Yep, they will all make mistakes and have off days but we have to deal with it and they will hopefully become better players. If we dont they will all leave. I know for a fact everyone of the blokes i mentioned have offers elsewhere. We could all of a sudden find ourselves with some good youngsters moving elsewhere and our squad looking really thin. Its getting to the point where we have so many good youngsters we need to be looking to develop the future players for future success rather than looking for some success right now. I'm struggling to see what blokes like Sims and sadly, Thiaday are offering right now.

Isn't that exactly what WB does ? Oppa, Sua and Isaako already have been given a run. Haas will get a run after WBs considered he's ready enough.

Have you not looked at Wayne Bennets squad tactics for the past decade? He doesn't want to develop players. Every squad he has had in this period has had very poor depth as he spends big on a best possible 17 with 2 or 3 decent reserves, and hopes he gets lucky with form and injury to win a comp. He just wants to win another comp and retire. That's the issue with this mentality. He got lucky with the dragons run, and then had bad injuries and an aging, overrated roster at the knights. This is similar to the issue we have now with some of our squad. He is actually ruining the club. Talk to any Dragons or Knights fan and look at the state he left them in.

To an extent yes, but in my view, there is no way that the version of Bennett that started this club and brought us our glory years would have kept Thaiday for this year (or kept playing Thaiday) or would have accepted the form being shown by Sims without making changes.
