What about that thread.
Whilst in the past I was annoyed, I always understood it from a business perspective. 9 is a business and Adelaide is an AFL town. But when I lost all patience is with the digital revolution, 9 now have 3 channels and they still can't do a decent coverage. That is unforgivable
That Perth is tuning in to RL, is propaganda set up by the Perth franchise. A minute percentage of W.A residents give two f*cks about RL.
So is Perth .......you want to watch league there? Be prepared to set your alarm.

Another Brisbane team .....a Sunny coast team and a CQ team is where we should be heading. More QLD teams for QLD players to play in.
Lets bring our boys back home....where they belong.

- and Perth is a far more compelling argument for expansion than further DILUTING the SE Queensland or Sydney markets.
Yeah...sure, because Perth will fill it's team with Perth based players? How'd that work out for Melbourne.
You think the systematic raping and pillaging of QLD players to other clubs will stop with another state joining in the fro......?
Think again.
You skipped over the important bit. Perth already has league setup and operating, they just don't have an NRL team. Melbourne had **** all.
NSW and QLD should be not even a blip on the radar for expansion. Perth is the only decent option at the moment.
its a very interesting thread on NRL expansionWhat about that thread.
its not just qld .its nsw and kiwis players aswell . but that a good thing . more opportunities for every playerYeah...sure, because Perth will fill it's team with Perth based players? How'd that work out for Melbourne.

yes 1st victorian home grown junior to play nrl . but not allowed to play state of origin for maroons or bluesBingo.
Of course I'm not saying the team would be loaded with local players immediately, but there's every reason to expect they might have a few locals within the first couple of years. Unlike Melbourne which after 15 years blooded its first local player this year.

It's going to be a lot easier to actually develop local talent thanks to the pathways created with NYC & SG Ball. Storm have a team in both and are beginning to bear the fruits of their labour with Mahe Fonua, Young Tonumaipea & Richard Kennar (1st Victorian Schoolboy), who strangely enough all qualify for NSW. Similar story for WA with Curtis Rona signing a first grade deal with the Cowboys. I'm not as confident in WA as I am with the Storm but there are plenty of encouraging signs out west.
Right now, I don't think the ARLC should focus on expansion and should continue to look after all the clubs that are there and do all they can to improve the standard of the game.
When the game still requires so many tweaks, I really don't think it's a good idea to bring in a couple new clubs.
