Where to From Here? Let's Plan for 2021...er...2025

Put a time frame on the contracts offered to Dearden, Coates and Staggs. Happy for the club to offer decent $ for all players as I believe they are the core of this future moving forward but I refuse for the club be Fifita’d again.
Offer them market value +50k and I think that’s reasonable.
Nah screw coates he doesn’t want to be loyal he can get F’ed. As long as we keep Staggs and Dearden I happy to lose Coates if it meant snagging the Cheese

I get this is in good fun but how do you quantify “trying your guts out”. Sorry mate, you only tried 86.5% or your guts out and we need at least a 90+ for you to meet your KPI.

There’s already a code of conduct in place so we don’t need the ‘don’t make a prick of yourself” KPI but again how do you quantify being a prick? Is it okay to be a prick if your pissed in private or to be a prick in public as long you’re sober?

Stay off Tinder? Why? What does that have to do with playing ability.

Mullets are back in fashion and accepted at most work places.
90%?? Clearly the KPI would be giving 110%

2021 is here and it looks as though most changes that will happen for this year have happened. Looking toward 2022 here is the best team I could come up using only players who’ contracts expire at the end of this season (potential targets for 2022):

1. S Drinkwater
2. B Ferguson
3. T Opecic
4. L Mitchell
5. D Gagai
6. Shaun Johnson
7. A Reynolds
8. N Brown
9. C McInnes
10. D Lui
11. K Capewell
12. A Crichton
13. D Funicane

14. K Mann
15. T Harris
16. B Afoa
17. J Sua

Of these players I would like to see a few of Drinkwater, Opacic, Gagai, McInnes, Capewell, Harris, Sua Mann signed.

1. Drinkwater / Isaako / Niu
2. Farnworth
3. Gagai/Opacic
4. Staggs
5. Coates
6. Ash Taylor / Drinkwater / Milf
7. Dearden
8. Carrigan
9. B Smith / McInnes
10. Haas
11. Sua / Harris
12. TPJ
13. Asiata

14. Riki
15. Funicane
16. Bullimor
17. Lodge

Why would we go after Su'a, Opacic or Ash Taylor? both let go by the broncos and performed better elsewhere (except Opacic). Should not be going after disloyal juniors and rather develop the talented loyal ones we have now in those positions, such as Bullemor, Dearden and from all reports Niu.

Bullemor is a middle forward, and sua got punted by seibold when he was still getting over a broken ankle. Piakura is the second rower we want to keep, aswell as riki.

All of them were told they weren’t needed. I don’t consider any of them disloyal.

Bullemor is listed as a middle forward, however it is obvious he is a back-rower with his speed and agility I don't see him playing frontrow in the future at all unless injuries occur, we have far too much depth there. "I am not set in stone as a front rower, I also play second row or lock". Su'a was well aware that while Fifita was in the team he wouldn't be starting, he just took the easy way out as Wayne signed him at Souths, the guy was only 21 or 22 at the time. Didn't try and fight for his position at all.

I agree with that sentiment regarding Ash Taylor and Opacic not Su'a, just my opinion that it makes no sense signing them whatsoever.

Fair enough. I think Sua would be a great addition, as would Oppa. Taylor is worth a discussion but hopefully there is a better option, I agree with you there.

I wouldn't chase anyone we have previously let go. (Macca/Kahu etc will leave soon enough). BUt Opiciac (whilst I thought was a waste letting him go at the time, due to his defence at center), Taylor (shows a few glimpses last year), and Su'a (nothing amazing, just outside a well renowned hlf who can give good quality ball) are not our needs.

If Isaako fails we need a serious FLB.

1. Isaako/???
2. Coates
3. Staggs
4. Farnsworth/Nui/Copley (does do a job)/ but we could also go to market here.
5. Mead/surely we have some young wingers coming through??
6. Milf/Paix (depending on if Kevvie can fix milf)
7. Dearden
8. Haas
9. Macca/Turpin (wouldn't mind a smith?)
10. Lodge (If he is comintted)
11. Riki
12. Bullemore/Pikaku
13. Carrigan/Pangai (Asiata for the time being if Pangai can get his head screwed on, but could be any of the three in future)

14. Utility/Hok - Walters/Paix/Turpin
15. Fleg
16/17 - left overs of Asiata/Pangai/Carrigan all in a rotation role in the middle

I feel if we can put it together, and simplify Milford/dearden/isaako's roles as a whole the team will improve this year.

1. Isaako needs to just catch the ball, play safe and run hard back into the line (like Hunt used to). His ball playing will develop, too much presure expected before he has even had 3+ games at FLB!
6/7. Dearden can control the plays and Milf just plays whats ahead, both need solid defenders outside them. Milf needs to play both sides out back, sweeping like Boyd/many FLBs.
9. I feel Kevvie is playing hard ball with drags over Macca, 1 for the principal and we have already forked out 150k, and that he has the experience to get our forwards going on the right foot, gives Turpin some more time to develop and come on and run. Plus tightens our middle.
10/8. Lodge/Haas/Fleg - and even Carrigan can rotate evenly in the prop rotation, all have shown when needed can play bigger min, but not necessary to get the best out of them.
11/12. Riki/Bullemore/Pikaku are who we need to keep, they will develop and have attacking upside.
13. Asiata/Panagi - Both have ball playing skills, Pangai just neds to develop mentaly!

I don't think we need to constantly look elsewhere for talent, we have the best pool of youth in the game, if they don't turn out good here then we are likely going to make other players from other teams look worse when they come here too.

Even the best teams are getting our leftovers and making them good which says it all lately.

I agree, I hate seeing the articles of players who developed over the years who Broncos knocked back! What is happening, why can't we keep them?

9 times out of 10, this is the reason:

Well if storm and Roosters seem to be able to teach players the value of the club over money, no wonder why they have so many trophies in their HQ!

we have more premierships in our HQ than the Storm do.

admittedly, the Roosters have more than us ... but they have also been around for 80 extra years

We do at the moment because we have an experience and leadership vortex at the club, and bringing through more talented but young and inexperienced blokes won’t fix that until the current young guys get enough seasons under their belts that they are now experienced. Not only will that be in slow and painful process, it will also stunt the development of all involved.
