He played in the halves when tonga beat australia and did well when he filled in that position when we beat souths this season (early second half around his 3rd try). His defensive reads are a lot better in the halves (his misreads are a liability in the centres). It gets an attacking threat closer to the ball with more room to move, will attract defenders opening up space for second rower and outside backs. He has a decent short ball, flick pass and offload and i think he could develop his passing game further. It would also enable bird to get back to right centre where his communication could really help coates develop his defensive reads. Could be worth an experiment?

If we were to get hynes in at fullback he could accommodate the general play kicking duties with dearden as he has a decent boot on him as he has played both halves and fullback in lower grades.

Again....why exactly did we sign Niu for....then play him at fullback, and...if he wasnt injured...would still be playing there....and yet people want to bring in Hynes to play there..?

Because we thought he wanted to be here. Now I don’t trust him at all

Mainly because Niu, while showing glimpses, really did look not ready for NRL level.

any more or less than Hynes...???

Hynes looked better but there are two things to consider as to why. 1. He is older and 2. He is playing in a side with an excellent structure and cohesion. Niu was thrown to the wolves in a side playing like reserve reserve graders.

the same character who thought he'd turn into Hannibal Lector and bite Shaun Johnson during todays game...?

Duly sent off....

100% recruit for character...

100% no fucking way....

By the time his suspension is over for that incident we should have fixed ourselves...
The wording was ambiguous.. 100% recruit for character meant NO TO PROCTOR!!

I think nui needs more time to work on his game and also physically mature (he was getting monstered in most tackles). He needs more time playing against men in the lower grades. He is still young and still may be two or so years off first grade. If he comes in and kills it at ISC then he could make the move into first grade.

I dont see why our club is so eager to try and get 18-20 year olds into first grade. If there is a need for it (injuries) or the player shows that they are first grade ready (hass, fifita, carrigan) sure. A lot of learning occurs in the lower grades.

For those involved in the club, what part has Alex Glenn played in the cliques created within this team?

I've jumped on the train, jump on with me.
Which train you ask? The Wane Train.

Shaun Wane, England Head coach, former Wigan head coach with a winning percentage the same as Bellamy.
England won't be playing international Rugby League this year, possibly not next either, and he wants to coach in the NRL.

"The players get what I'm about, I want them to be really really good people off the field, respectful, and I want them to be nasty animals on the field, I want them to change and to me that's a proper Wigan player"

Imagine that mentality with the talent we have in Brisbane.

Get him in here, he is a proven winner that has a passion for winning and will do so at all costs, losing is not an option for this man.

If there aren't massive changes in the off season there won't be any change on the field. Simple as that.

Forget about anyone wanting to come here either. Just have to grit our teeth and eat shit for a few years until all those stupid player options expire.

I wonder if we could get Josh Morris up here for a year before he retires...

The Raging fool says that for us to bounce back we need look no further than the Titans ...

it may just be me, but i think we should aim a tad higher than 4 wins from 14 games. also we definitely should not follow their lead of paying players serious overs (in Fifita's case close to 500k in overs)

I would be thinking a spine of Bird, Milford, Dearden and Turpin for 2021. With Granville off the bench. Green on a 2 year contract.

Welch coming in to support Haas and Carrigan and Proctor
1. Bird
2. Kennar
3. Farnsworth
4 staggs
5 Isaako
6Milford
7 Dearden
8 Welch
9 turpin
10 Haas
11. Proctor
12 Teo
13 Carrigan
14 Riki
15 Flegler
16 Bullemor
17 Lodge
18 Coates
19 Oates
20 Hopoate
21 Croft

Briton Nikora might be on the outer at the Sharks, a NZ international would be a good signing for the 2nd row.
