Big decsions to be made regarding the number 7 this week. Could make or break the season.

The question is, who do you want and why?

For mine, PJ Marsh. Been there, done that, just needs to feed Locky the ball and he will make a difference with his defence.

I just think if Ben Hunt gets thrown in the deeep end it could shatter his confidence.

I want Ben Hunt, but I wouldn't mind seeing TC play in the 7.

Ben Hunt. If you're good enough you're old enough.

I favour McCullough at 7 and Marsh to Hooker. I saw him McCullough play halfback at the pre season trial at Redcliffe and although it was one of the first games of the year his kicking game was spot on and kept the Raiders on the back foot that night. Marsh is a seasoned campaigner and the type of player who'd be effective against the Storm.

I know Gould was saying it's best for a halfback to play in that position however I just think throwing Ben Hunt into that role in a Preliminary Final against as good a team as Melbourne at short notice is too much. They'll shut him down.

I say Ben Hunt but I would let Locky do the main play making and just have BHunt chime in to help out when needed. If we rely too much on Hunt then Melbourne are going to shut him and and crush his confidence. Hopefully McCCullough has a good night with the boot because when he does his kicks from dummy half are sweet and we can't afford to be kicking it to Slater on the full all night.

i think a good plan for our long kicking game would either be to kick the ball dead or find as much ground as we can but make sure the ball rolls into touch. that way we negate Slaters kick returns

I was going to vote for Ben Hunt, but Allan Langer is an even better option. :p

I reckon he's got another Origin like comeback in hin.

to late to register Alfie thou :P

I say Marsh. U20's need HUNT. and Marsh would do the same kinda job for Brisbane.

Bring on the Broncos Double

I was all for Ben Hunt but now I'm undecided. It depends on a few things:

1) Whether Hunt feels confident that he can handle the occasion, and if they're sure it won't crush him if we lose.

2) Who Lockyer wants and feels comfortable with - the more he feels like he has to do everything, the worse he plays. Shane Perry showed that our other half doesn't have to be a genius, he just has to have Locky's trust.

3) What Henjak's game plan is. If he's planning on killing them with defence then Hunt is probably not necessary, and a big tackling backrower might do the trick (as Coxy said in the other thread).

Whatever the case, I don't want to move McCullough or K Hunt.

We need the solution that causes as little disruption as possible. Ben Hunt in for Wallace is the most logical - a like for like swap. But is the pressure going to be too much on him? If our forwards keep doing what they're doing it won't be, and so that's what I voted.

Failing that, again the least impact is what's required.

How do we achieve that?
- Name Te'o in the 7.
- Te'o takes Wallace's spot in the defensive line.
- Lockyer takes on first receiver role both sides
- Te'o and Taylor interchange at second receiver on the left as desired, Carroll and Glenn playing a similar role on the right
- McCullough takes on more kicking responsibility, as does K. Hunt

That's far from ideal and I agree with Gould it's fraught with danger and the better option is to bring an actual half in. Which again is why I voted B.Hunt.

Went with Ben Hunt, he's our #2 half back and would cause the least disruption to the team.

I'd go with Ben Hunt. Whether he is up to it or not just selecting him should give him plenty of confidence. All Bhunt needs to do is feed the ball to Lockyer and kick well and he will have done his job.

B Hunt for sure. Lots of people (not just here) keep saying things like "what if it crushes his confidence?" I prefer to look at the other side and say it could just be the making of him and Wallace will have to fight to keep his spot next year.

I think putting someone out of position there is a much bigger risk than an rookie kid.

Ben hunt. It's the best choice.

Second would be Taylor at 5/8th with Locky at half.

McCullough and KHunt to stay where they are.
