Who do YOU want in the 7?

Who do you want at halfback?

I would have to say Ben Hunt because he is really the only genuine halfback. Failing that Ben Walker may have to dust of the boots.

Ivan could pull the boots on himself, or maybe he could give his nephew a call??? But I don't think we're that desperate - I say give Ben Hunt a go.

Ben Hunt I think will get the nod, althugh I wouldn't be unhappy with PJ Marsh, but I want to throw one in for consideration. Ben Teo, yes I know the Courier Mail has had something on it but look at the positives. Move Lockyer to half back and Teo in at 5/8". All he needs to do is get the ball out to the backs and play somewhat like Mateo or Sutton. He would sure up our defence in and around the rucks to try and reduce Smiths effect from dummy half. He hits hard and has a good offload. I'm just saying its worth discussion.

How long are trainers (like Langer) allowed to stay on the field? He could help guide Hunt if he stays on the field more than usual. :D

I went for Ben Hunt. I want the team structure with the least changes as possible as that's what got us to where we are right now. Sure, Ben Hunt has only had a couple of NRL games, but I'd rather a #7 play #7.

So I'm hoping that he'll have a blinder on Saturday night!

and to top it off he wants the job. He has the heart! and im sure he would have a blinder if not for any reason other then wanting to play in the side come the Grand Final.

It must be Ben Hunt.

It's not worth weakening another position. Bring in someone who already knows how to play halfback.

As gUt said, if you're good enough, you're old enough.

I really don't see what you guys see in Hunt, I really don't. Too slow and pre-emtive, the Storm will eat him for desert. I'd rather someone who can tackle, so atleast they ain't getting through us...

If we do go with a backrower, could you imagine the strife we would be in if Locky got injured in the game. He is already carrying a hammy injury apparently.
We would have to do this:

Five eighth: Carroll
Halfback: McCullough
Hooker: Glenn

OR

Fullback: Hodges
Centre: Glenn
Five eighth: Carroll
Halfback: KHunt

We would get Slaughtered.

It's gotta be P J Marsh he has proven himself in the big games before. His defence is very solid, he has pace & has been around the side for a couple of years now. The combination with Taylor was a high light of Taylors time with the Comets in the Q cup. It is to important of a game to gamble with a kid that hasn't looked at ease in the few games he has played in the top grade. Marsh would not be over awed.

As long as Locky plays heaps at 2nd receiver - that's one structural change that can't be messed with

I'd play an extra forward so Teo for me ... and my game plan would be bomb israel a LOT and bash the bajesus out of them all over the park. They'll run a lot of traffic at Ben Hunt - not for me in such a big game.

Oink !

Eh, I don't think there's really such a thing as a specialist 2nd receiver anymore. For a lot of teams (including the Broncos) the halves are split into a left side and right side half. We have Wallace who controls the left and Lockyer, who controls the right, and other than that they both share the roles and switch between them depending on what side of the field we are targeting.

Is Palmer Wapau still with the club and is he fit? If so could he be an option at Five8. Very solid defensively and has a little more ball playing ability than Carroll or Teo for my mind. Also allows these blokes to play there normal game which they have been doing so well recently. Personally i would like to see Ben Hunt given the nod but im not sure its way Ivan wll go. Anyway most important thing for us come Sat is to keep up the aggression we showed in both the way we carry the ball and in our D and we are a great chance of another Premiership!

Apparently K Hunt has experience at being "second receiver" around this time of year, so I'm going with him
