We went after Widdop, but not for $550k a year, he was just chasing the money, can't blame him. I also don't blame Broncos for not offering more, he's not worth $550. Carney is still available if we are still looking for a half. Door for Dugan hasn't closed trust me.
Gareth is solid but I question whether he's going to be the player a lot of people assume he's going to become.

My point was more about signing players for the sake of signing players. IMO, I'd rather hold off then invest millions into a player who isn't going to be the answer and compromise our ability to keep our core roster together.
We need a big name coach and need one now.
I've gotta hold out hope that the Broncos are working hard behind the scenes on making a big signing. Whether it be a Barba, Tomkins, Quade Cooper, Will Hopoate, Israel Folau or Cherry-Evans
Saw this in another forum ...
"With persistent reports linking the Warriors to Tomkins, who has played 18 times for England, Elliott said such stories were not without substance. ''There's always truth to rumours,'' he said.
''We're in the market for players and he's a player who's possibly on the market.
''He's not the only player we're speaking to. Obviously there's attention around him because he's got some profile in the UK. We're certainly not the only club talking to him, as well.'' http://www.odt.co.nz/sport/league/253795/league-warriors-confirm-interest-tomkins
Hopefully we're one of the other clubs "talking to him" ...
