NEWS Why Haas Rejected 6m Offer

Its generally a sure sign they are looking at other options when they give us the " i'm putting the contract talks to one side to concentrate on footy " line. Imo, he is 100% looking elsewhere. Good thing is we have him tied up for another 3 years.

How long did $BW have left on his contract? Nasser is not even legally allowed to act as an agent but arrogantly does so anyway with proxy agents and a blind eye approach by the NRL. They believe they are above the game and if Haas is being influenced by them, then it won't be far away from him believing that he, too, has been unfairly treated in his last contract and shouldn't have to honour it.

Remember after Williams walked out on his NRL contract literally overnight, he was welcomed back with a glitter parade by the NRL.

There were rumours for years while SBW was still overseas that he had already received a golden handshake deal to come back via the Roosters, for all we know that is already happening with Haas and he has already agreed to defect as soon as his current legal battle is over.

A million dollar forward is a luxury and not as important as a top-class spine. If Haas goes to the Roosters they will somehow have Smith, Keary & Tedesco in the spine plus still be able to afford a $1 million forward. Nothing suss.
Don't forget cheese next year. What a joke. How do they get away with that shit. Roorters are playing a different game to everyone else.

I dont think after the SBW incident even the Rorters would be able to find a way to get him out of his current contract. The NRL cant let that happen again. We arent going to chip in for him, and we arent just going to release him. All he could do is go and play in another code probably until his current contract us up.

This is all why i am skeptical of the Haas situation. Not because the Broncos have done anything shady, but because of the company Haas is keeping, and their track record and links to the Rorters.

Politis is one of the worst things to happen to modern RL and as others have pointed out, they have the Cheese next year, on top of all their massive stars and apparently its all above board.

They have JWH retiring at the end of the season and Haas would slot in nicely to take over the 300k a year they are paying JWH now. /eyeroll

Luckily, if he did leave there is no way he could get paid under what he is on here.

Oh no, that's a mistake. Currently of course JWH is on 300k but as soon as he retires, he was suddenly on 800k+, convenient amount to get Haas.

And so he should. At the very least to squeeze a better contract out of the broncos. We have 2 years before we even need to worry about it. Not sure why the fuss from some to be honest. In my yearly review I tell my boss every time that I’m reassessing every 12 months but I’ve been loyal so far because they treat me well and I haven’t yet felt I needed to go elsewhere, the day likely will come though and I don’t think they can be mad about that because I do my job well and am transparent about my thoughts. Payne has currently promised us at least 3 more years and as long as he’s putting in then we have no right to be upset about it.

It could all get ugly for sure but so far he’s said any done everything we could ask of him.

I think its a bit off him looking around with 3 years left on his contract tbh( something i have no doubts at all he is doing ). He's well paid, been looked after and supported when he has been an absolute grub off the field. For it to even be being spoken about this far out from his contract being up should be a concern. We will have to see how it plays out and if he is honorable and a man of his word or not.

It’s definitely a concern but I keep reminding myself that this is their job. I’ve checked seek countless times while at my current job and even had a couple of interviews elsewhere. Nothing wrong with checking out the menu as long as you go home for dinner. You’re right though, it is a question of character as to how he acts during the contract period.

I know!! Apparently their annual salary is a packet of doritos and a chupa chup, but they play for the pride! And the GLORY!

They need to be audited (properly) immediately.

along with Sam Walker, Joey Manu et al.

He wasn't even a year in to the five year deal which was ending in 2012- he came back in 2013.

Paynes new manage Tyran Smith
Played for 7 different NRL clubs
His son plays for the storm
His brother in law is Anthony Mundine
Business Partner is John Hopoate
Apparently real good mates with Nasser and SBW who are best buds with Politis
Not to mention Fittler in blues camp with Tedesco
With some of those people in his ear I have a feeling he'll be asking for a release come next year.. and probably do boxing aswell
