Sam Scarlett is a halfback from the Panthers, signed as cover for Milford and Hunt.

Heard he is a pretty good player.

No, the Auckland 9s are on February 6th-7th.

The WCC is on February 20th.

The Auckland 9s

The Nines, in early February, can be counted as an NRL game for demerit points purposes, meaning the Broncos will select Hunt in their squad and replace him because he will be suspended.

I think thats close to our strongest side as well. But fir the early games i eould probably start Thaiday with McGuire on the bench, just to ease him back from injury.

Yeah I think it is and putting McGuire on the bench would probably be the best, so he can ease back into it.

I wouldn't even play McGuire at all in this to be honest. It's just an exhibition game for us plus he has to travel. Ease him back in through the trials and the opening rounds. At least then he's getting some time against club level players who are still rusty themselves.

Ese'ese is an interesting selection. Don't get me wrong I am not knocking your choice because I really don't know anything about him but he is clearly a better buy than I realised if you guys have him coming straight into the team. I thought both Wallace and Molo would be ahead of him.

Ese'ese is a beast and I rate him more highly than both of those guys.

Fair enough. Just googled him and beast seems a good description. First grade football isn't going to make him any uglier that's for sure. Hope he can play.

Interesting line from Chris Garry.

Roberts, Salesi Funaki (Wests Tigers) and Caleb Timu (Mormon Mission) are the club’s only gains who are in contention for Round 1.

Herman Ese’ese (Canterbury Bulldogs) and Sam Scarlett (Penrith Panthers) are training with Brisbane but are contracted to Souths Logan.

According to Chris Garry Herman Ese'ese and Sam Scarlett are only training with us, they are actually contracted to Souths Logan not us.

Beaten by Big Pete but yeah not actually in our squad.
