World Cup Team

This would be my team

1: Billy Slater
2: Jarryd Hayne
3: Greg Inglis
4: Michael Jennings
5: Brett Morris
6: Jonathan Thurston
7: Cooper Cronk
8: Matt Scott
9: Cameron Smith (captain)
10: Paul Gallen
11: Greg Bird
12: Nate Myles
13: Corey Parker

14: Andrew Fifita
15: Luke Lewis
16: Josh Papalli
17: Daly Cherry-Evans

has Michael Jennings ever played on the right side? i thought it was usually Josh Morris who switched over for NSW.

seems rough that Tohu Harris gets dropped. I thought FPN would have been dumped. I don't know how he really got into the side in the first place.

Yeah. What's worse is that I can see FPN making the main 17, if not actually starting.

well, from a natural justice point of view it would be terrible if FPN made the team.

However, right now I think I'd be delighted if FPN was selected by Kearney because truthfully, I'm more worried about the quality of the New Zealand side than I have been since Stacey Jones and Ruben Wiki retired.

I'd prefer to see the strongest sides possible so we can actually get nervous about contests... which means FPN should pretty much be 25th man.

FPN was part of a premiership so that's how he gets in wrongly.

Wonder what a Kiwi 17 would look like...

1. Josh Hoffman
2. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
3. Krisnan Inu
4. Dean Whare
5. Jason Nightingale
6. Kieran Foran
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Jared Warea-Hargreaves
9. Issac Luke
10. Jesse Bromwich
11. Sonny Bill Williams
12. Simon Mannering (c)
13. Greg Eastwood

14. Thomas Leuluai
15. Ben Matulino
16. Sam Moa
17. Frank Pritchard

18. Alex Glenn
19. Bryson Goodwin
20. Sam Kasiano
21. Kevin Locke
22. Frank Paul Nu'ausala
23. Elijah Taylor
24. Manu Vatuvei

Something like that. Honestly, that's still a good squad.

I think they'll be hurting themselves by playing Hoffman at fullback. When he's on the wing, he's close to the best winger in the comp, if not the best. Sheck or Locke would add more as link men at the back (or at least I assume Sheck would, based on what Roosters fans say). Also I can see Glenn being picked at centre. Surely even Kearney wouldn't pick Inu.

I don't think Kearney likes Locke that much. he chose Hoffman ahead of him in the ANZAC test too, even though Hoffman was starting on the wing then. Since Hoffman finished off the season at fullback I figure he is a pretty good chance to start there for the Kiwis.

I don't think it would be that bad to have Hoffman back there anyway. he's still quite a good fullback and if they have SBW and Eastwood in the backrow I think it gets rid of some of the need for a ball playing fullback.

Wow, that's great.

Glenn and Reed to follow hopefully.

Good on him.

Hopefully hook doesn't "bulk" him back up again next season.

Looking forward to the first game Aus V Eng, we'll get to see Sam Tomkins in action as well as the Burgess boys representing England.
