Well do a comparison. Those things were never said about any of those guys, because they did time getting ready and were ready.

Cronk 61 ISC games
Smith 28 ISC games
Munster 46 ISC games
Ponga 44 NYC games
Slater 23 ISC games

All those guys took an average of 40 lower grade games to be NRL ready- some of the best players ever.

Yet

The Broncos have four halves that are ready after four games?

That's one hell of quick development over guys that have turned out pretty well.
Sooooo, how many games did these guys end up playing for the Broncos?

What faith did we show in these guys?

Their trust that the Broncs would give them a go?

Answer - Sweet **** All

FTR - SOS if I’m not corrected has played a game you might have heard called the NRL

FWIW, these four talented halves would produce with one arm tied behind their backs more than what Kniko has produced playing in the NRL his entire halfback career.

Highlights from the Devil's game, Bullemore gets a double. Size, speed and footwork, one to keep an eye on. Still very young too.

Good Dolphins highlight Perese looks good, strong defence. Paix too.
Admittedly I have only seen highlights of this Cory Paix kid but he looks like a good player to me. He is the bloke I hope gets our halfback spot.

I reckon we need to just sit Milford now, tell him to go slim down and heal up for a while. Then get him to go play touch footy to practise the amazing footwork he doesn't utilise. Tell him 'Darius will not be fullback next year it will be you Milf! Go and rediscover your love for playing footy.'

We then move Nikorima into the utility spot or just flat out play him for 80mins from hooker if he is up to it. Which free's up the 6 and 7 jumpers. We tell Paix, Dearden and Boyd that they will fight it out for those 2 spots. Ideally we hold on to all 3 if we can to see who develops the most over the next few years.

Once Maccas and Darius contracts are up, that will free up coin we can use to acquire the necessary pieces. In particular a talented dummy half, preferably a queenslander....only cause I'm biast.

I remember back in 2008, I couldn't wait until Ben Hunt played first grade. Watching him in the Under 20s, I thought we had our own version of Cooper Cronk and thought the combination of him and Jharal Yow Yeh was going to become our answer to Cronk and Folau. Everytime Bennett went ahead and selected Shane Perry or PJ Marsh above him, I really began to question Bennett's selections as a coach and wondered if he backed himself enough to get something out of a talent so big but raw.

One year later, Ben finally gets his shot after honing his craft in Queensland Cup and 20s. It was a Monday Night at Cronulla and I couldn't wait for Hunt to shock everyone against one of the worst performing teams in the competition. This was going to be Joey vs. Souths 94 all over again.

80 minutes later, and the Broncos lost to the 15th placed Cronulla Sharks 46-12. It was one of the worst losses I've seen in club history and Ben Hunt looked so off the pace, it put the 20s competition into perspective for me. No doubt Ben Hunt could (and he has) go onto become a good player, but the club needed to show patience in him.

4 years later he finally started showing the type of form he was renown for in 20s.

It shouldn't take as long for the Broncos to make a call on Dearden, Paix and Boyd, but they're all adjusting to the rigors of making this game their career. The impression I have is that the Broncos will blood Dearden at some point this year and he could very well become the first choice halfback as early as next year. Right now his development is being treated very delicately, but the signs have been promising and if he improves he will see first grade.

The impression I have of O'Sullivan is that he's seen as depth. If either Milford or Nikorima suffered an injury, he would slot into the side, but Seibold is really waiting on Dearden since he's viewed as the one. I don't believe Dargan is even in the equation and there was speculation that he was going to leave the club during the pre-season. I think he's just taking up space on the roster and if a club showed an interest in him, Seibold would be prepared to let him go no questions.

With Fai also on the outer, the Broncos squad of 30 is more like a squad of 26 with Fensom, Tagataese, O'Sullivan and Mago as depth options, and Kennar, Perese, Shibasaki, Carrigan and Flegler as long term prospects.

I don't think Wayne left the club in disarray, I think he was sacked at an awkward time and I think he would have taken more risks with the selections than Seibold has. I believe Seibold is trying to get a feel for the team and isn't afraid to start slowly to make his mark. I think he's giving all these senior players the opportunity to put their hands up and over time, you'll see more changes to the roster.

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see Seibold enter the market to get the type of player he wants for his gameplan.

That's one of the more "hyper" examples of hyperbole I've seen posted here. I think Kodi has an excellent running game and a solid passing game. Last year as our starting 7 he scored 10 tries and had 11 assists. He's obviously not a pure halfback and isn't what the majority of fans want out of a halfback at our club (including me) but that's the club's fault, not his.

On the other side of the coin if you'd used Milf in your one-armed comparison, I would have been more inclined to agree with you...

IF tommy boy goes well at 7, Niko leaves and Milford stays at 6.

Where does that leave us trying to bring on Tanah Boyd and Paix?

Would we groom one for hooker to take over McCullough?

Nice, I was hoping we had something in mind to keep both. Didn’t want them getting picked up by the shonkies, rorters or grandpa Bennett.

Will dearden defend on the sam burgess side? Lachlan Lewis showed a master class of how to have a one on one win v Sam. I remember his dad playing lower grades at the broncs in the 80’s

Tweed just destroyed the Illawarra Steelers for the U18 state cup. If we dont lock up Walsh and Coates we got rocks in our heads, Coates just tore through defence it was Inglis like. There will be a replay on QRL no doubt, check it out really dominant display.
