I was at the game tonight. Pretty much a waste of time going in. One thing that did please me was Hunt's stint at halfback. Set up a try. His chip and chase should have lead to another try. He also found Maranta with a cut-out bullet like pass. Those are the things we've been sorely missing. Time for Hunt to get a run in the halves.

Bullet pass - best pass thrown by a Broncos half all season. Compare with Corey's 3 on 1 pass to no-one 5 minutes before.

Hook will persist with Norman. I dunno what they're coaching him to do but he, Wallace and Macca are running it just too much.... I think the structures are there outside them, but they are choosing to run (or are they being forced, I really don't know)

That performances just makes me feel like curling up in the fetal position.

Disgraceful, unacceptable all of the above. I hope we don't kid ourselves, 2 of those tries came from Parra being the worst side in the competition, not from us being any good. They didn't take any pride out there and we were sitting ducks from the 20 minute mark onwards.

Changes need to be made.

Capewell - Left right out. Might be a hot shot in Q Cup but his s**tty defence and dumb last tackle dummy half attempts don't fly in first grade.

Only one backrow in centres. I'd rather none but know it really isn't a possibility. Having two was stupid and moving Beale back to the wing was a dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb decision. Only reason I was fine with Beale not being fullback was because I thought he needed more than one game to adjust to the centres. Didn't even happen, so stupid.

Wallace or Norman dropped. Wallace maybe injured so Hook really has no reason not to go with Hunt who is at least willing to have a dig and knows how to position himself and the team. Wallace is a sitting duck out there, waddling, stuttering and not passing it around and positioning himself in no mans land with his stupid skipper Slammin' Sam.

F**k Thaiday. Yeah, he made a try saver but WTF was with him constantly putting himself in a position where he couldn't get the ball? I thought the Thaiday choice would pay off but he's really proving me wrong. Bitterly disappointed.

Civoniceiva & Gillett -----> Bench. Their defence was deplorable and unlike Moose, didn't offer anything with the ball. I love Bulla, but even by his own accord he knows he isn't good enough at the moment.

Macca should have played the full 80. Was looking good out of dummy half all night, yet as soon as we took him off we went to complete s**t. Time to take the full plunge or f**k him off for a hooker like Baptiste who's been killing it in every competition he's played in.

Lui experiment is done. He's useless. Bring back Gibb or even J. Wallace. Hell, Frei has been busting his ass in both attack and defence for any side he's played in. Lui is a soft player. Talented, but soft and we don't need that right now. Needs to man up in Q Cup. Honestly, don't understand how he even gets picked. Easily one of our worst Q Cup affiliate players.

We're the imposters and until the boys play with some desire, energy and tenacity we'll be the jokes of the competition.

I can cop it but I know we're better than this.

If I'm thinking of the same tackle you are, then Thaiday was the first to derp the tackle, and the linebreak happened because of him, but he caught up.

Guys, calm down, we will be back, I know we will, the boys are putting in their best effort.

**** NO! I defend the Broncos all the time, i often make posts like what i just wrote above. when we knock on a lot, i don't hate, when we play without structure in attack, I don't hate. But when their ****ing makeshift attempt at a tackle is one outstretched arm, I can't ****ing cop that shit, no ****ing way.

Broncos, go **** yourself. You get paid to do this, this is your job, ****ing try. When you lost to the titans, i could understand it, the effort was there. Thats all I can ever ask for is effort, but not trying is ****ing disgraceful.

I thought last week was the nadir of our season? Boy was I wrong. I know we had a whole bunch of makeshift players out of position but our defence was non-existent. That last ten minutes of the first half was stupefying.

The whole team (those that are fit enough to take the field) have got nothing in the tank. And the outside runners have clearly lost faith in our halves. It's plainly obvious for all to see. They're flat-footed but only because they don't know what play is coming next. I think Griffen will stick to his guns and leave Norman at 5/8 but IMO the experiment has failed. Need to try someone else next season.

Loved Lachy Maranta's game tonight and Teo's agression with the ball (but not his defensive play). I had uni tonight so couldn't make the game - praise the lord-ah!

Hunt needs to be our halfback. I don't care who wears the 6. Hook needs to wake up. His use of the bench has been shit.

I'm happy to persist with Norman.

You might remember I have been advocating Hunt to partner Norman for a while now.

That said, apart from Capewell's poor defensive efforts at fullback, he looked competitive and fresh.

I'd like to see if the Hunt / Norman thing could work for more than one game and if not, throw Capewell the 6.

Getting to the point .......we might have nothing to lose.

Tough run home.

my short term memory is a little clouded but i dont think capewell was THAT bad at the back. it was a tough gig and he had a lot of work to do with the turnstyle defense in front of him.

im glad we've got the doggies/storm/manly right before the finals. we will know for sure in those games if we are even up for finals footy. at this stage it doesnt look good.. but at least we cant just coast into the finals from this point in the season. the finger has to be pulled, now. if we can find a way to get up for those games it will put us in much better stead for the post season.

i thought we would of had our heads on this game. we looked far more disinterested than any game i can remember this season.
