NSW steal QLD's home game for 2013 Origin

Hopefully this all fires both teams up come Origin time, though it's probably waaaay too far away to still matter when we get there.

Oh Mal Meninga knows how to latch onto even the smallest of slights against anyone in the State of Queensland and somehow turn it into a motivator for QLD.

Laurie Daley... The dumbest commentator and personality in rugby league will have Stephen Kearney like look of "durrrrrr" on his face come 80 minute mark after game 1. Or alternatively will be so elated that he forgets that there is another 2 games to take out the title (much like Ricky in 2011).

Still can't believe Daley got coach lol.

NSW blues are expanding blachys blues fans seating area at homebush telstra stadium from what i read

Sterling moved out of qld when he 1 year old . grew up in nsw country . wagga wagga i think
sonny has already played for blues under 19 origin

One problem there Fredie is a lot of NSW supporters whinge more about the fact NSW born players play for Queensland ignoring actually where they played their junior football before first grade but never mention when Queensland born players play for them.

Tonie Carroll played for Queensland and Australia lower grades then went on to play for Queensland, Australia and New Zealand but NSW were up in arms when he played for Queensland, yet it would be ok for Sonny to play for the blues because his played under 19's for NSW? Don't you find that the slightest bit hypocritical.

Quite frankly the whole selection criteria system at present is a joke but the thing here is both sides have exploited it not just Queensland, try getting a NSW fan to admit that instead of trying to take the high ground making out they haven't exploited it when it suits them, there have been plenty of players over the years playing for NSW who shouldn't have but you don't hear the slightest peep from NSW fans, funny that.

My grandfather who played in the local league in the Darling Downs knew Sterlo's family before they moved to Wagga. My Dad's uncle and aunt knew them as well. They told me they moved to Wagga when Sterlo was 4.

What ? or where is the sonny bill - QLD origin team . connection ? from what i have seen ,sonny has only played for NSW in his carrer. going by the rules as is today , sterlo had a choice qld or nsw

I don't think Sterlo had much of a choice, but regardless of that, I think he played for the team that meant something to him, as Inglis and Folau do.
I very much doubt any player that grows and develops his footy in NSW would choose to play for Qld just because he was born there. The same goes for NSW born players that were raised and developped in Qld.

You made the point to Big Pete that Sonny had already played for NSW under 19's, Tonie Carroll did the same and was criticised for playing for Queensland, can't see the connection? Can't criticise Queensland for playing Carroll and then turn around and in same situation if SBW wanted to play for NSW say its ok because he played for NSW under 19's. Elias played for NSW and wasn't born in Australia either but NSW fans, management and coaches didn't have a problem with that.

Both sides are guilty of it, but apparently to NSW only Queensland ever do it.

And your right Porthoz Sterlo probably didn't have much of a choice, but the same can be said for Inglis and Folau, but where is all the criticism labelled at? Queensland.

even if you forget about sterlo... they are the most recent team to do it... does the name James Tamou ring a bell

lets not go over all this again - NSW have had MANY non-nsw born players play for them, just like QLD have had MANY non-QLD born players play for them.

If this debate is going to start again the most controversial QLD born defector to NSW is Ken Nagas by a mile.
