In hindsight, definitely the wrong play from Prince.

However, I can see what he was thinking. Nielsen and Hurrell were jamming in on Hodges while Maranta had all the space in the world to score. If the pass finds Maranta, we score and we're celebrating 7 & 8 and calling Prince a genius. It didn't and now we're licking our wounds.

On the flipside, if the pass finds Hodges and he doesn't score I'm sure we're breathing a heavy sigh of relief but cursing Prince for not going long.

It's a tough gig but that's why these players are paid the big bucks.

It was the wrong decision and at this stage of Princes career you would expect him to make the right devision. Oh well. Apart from that Prince had a good game.

Well firstly I thought todays effort was great..... fast moving defense, quick play the balls and a good kicking/chase game, I honestly thought we were the best team and deserved the win but invited the Warriors back in by trying to shut up shop with 20 minutes to go,we were rolling over the top of them and pushing through the line, why stop doing whats working?

Crowd penalties seem to be the referring feature of the day tho (did we even get an offside penalty?). The refs also missed that Mannering was accidentally offside from Hodges chip kick in the end of the first half which was then followed up by a crowd offside penalty, which was then followed up by a Warriors try. The video ref also tried their best to take away the tries to the Broncos by over reviewing yet the refs quickly awarded the warriors tries.

Good game to watch, Parker is a machine, Sammy really put in today as well, we really do need to find some killer instinct and try to put teams to the sword tho.

Feel gutted for the boys because they showed up to play today.

Ironic that a high risk play would lose us the match after the extremely negative play after we hit the lead. I could understand kicking to the corners from halfway on third and fourth tackles if it was wet but why not put them to the sword for the extra tackles in the dry. All we did was give them the ball, a rest and keep them in the game.
this is what pisses me off about Griffin. I have just about had enough of we will defend our way to victory.
I was on the keep Griffin bandwagon until this game really showed his negative influence. **** him

Great game of footy - shame somebody has to lose. Better than getting beat by 50 though... One thing that did stick out to me was the number of times Corey Norman played dummy half with a knackered looking Macca dragging his heels in the background. I don't know if this was a deliberate strategy or just someone showing some initiative after noticing Macca was having trouble keeping up? Either way it highlights how Macca really is struggling playing 80 minutes. Anyone would think he had played origin the way he was dragging along behind in the last 25 minutes. I cant help but think that what little I have seen of Granville he would have injected some speed and creativity from dummy half if he had been on the bench.

Macca had no reason to be lagging either, Hunt played 20min or so after half time (and certainly wasn't bad either).

Why the **** did Lui only play 5mins or so?? With Sammy/Parker backing up, it was fucking ridiculous. I know he's not a solid first-grader but ****, he's there, why not use him??!!

Because Griffin's not particularly adept at utilising his bench.

I though the boys played hard, and it was a horrible way to lose the game. Still, I had that same feeling I've had almost every game for a solid twelve months - when they're in front I never feel like they can hold the lead, and when they're behind I never feel like they can fight back. Someone else mentioned it, but there's no killer instinct any more.

Thing is, tempo was up, the team kept it up and was way on top for the last 20. That suggests to me that the most capable players were on the field at the appropriate times. Just let down by poor execution, and a bit unlucky. Doesn't make the loss any easier, I'm still filthy gutted, but game plan, rotation, etc was excellent. If we'd been playing like that all year we'd be contenders.

Great effort from all the boys. I thought Thaiday was epic. If he can play like that every week our season certainly isn't over. He seemed to lift the whole forward pack. I'm going to be ever-the-optimist. It was this corresponding game last season, that we won, that effectively ended our season. We were sitting high on top of the ladder and didn't win another game after it until the last round. Let's hope that is reversed and we win every game from here and maybe slip up last round before winning them all from there including Grand Final Day.

We were definitely the better side. The Warriors were dreadful today but a few soft penalties on our part gave them opportunities. That being said, our performance reinforced my fear that we are not genuine contenders. Even worse, we won't go anywhere near troubling the top teams. Melbourne, Manly, Souths etc would have crushed the Warriors today.

It also highlighted the problem with the halves. Our forwards were outstanding and had no trouble getting us field position. With few exceptions, the kicking game from Prince and Wallace was horrendous. I think the top 8 is beyond us now so why not try some things. I think Kahu should go to number 1 when he's fit. Our halves definitely need to change. I don't care if Norman goes back there. We cannot keep persisting with Prince and Wallace. Prince's defence is costing us dearly and Wallace's confidence looks shot to bits. Maybe a stint in Qld Cup to work on a few technical aspects of his game will do him good.

I actully thought Prince defended quite well, it was Hodges who was off today. Prince isn't the only player in the comp who hasn't wrapped up a Mateo offload.

Yeah true Mister Wright. Hodges was off defensively as well today. He kept coming in to assist Prince with the tackle. Probably a sign that he lacks confidence in his inside man.

Wallace's kicking game was pretty good, shame he got caught with the ball so often.

did you even watch the game today? :confused1:

Great game of footy with the forwards backing up really well. Was a Tough loss to take as they all put in 100% though ultimately we lost which is unacceptable from that point, that game should have been well and truly wrapped up.

One criticism, Hodges needs to talk to Read and learn how to pass again. Maranta the poor bugger doesn't get much ball unless it's last minute Hail Mary from the inside.

On another note, Locke would look good in a Broncs jersey!

Of course.

just curious ... because your comments suggest you just looked sat the score.

Personnally, i thought todays game was one of the toughest and most entertaining games of the year. just the wrong result. if they play like that against the Storm on Friday and the Storm continue the way they have been going the last few weeks, then i think the Broncos are a BIG chance in the match.
