2014 Broncos Season

Didn't know he also went to SBC, probably a couple of years after me though..Older bro was there with Dave "Dick Nose" Taylor.
 
The worst decision the Broncos ever made was not giving him the transition from the under 20's to the Queensland Cup and then up into the NRL as a halfback all the way through. Quite frankly I know there were a number of people here who wanted him to go just for his sake because they felt his career was going nowhere, his not a bench interchange hooker and was simply being wasted in his potential, where it leads still to be determined, but I definitely am looking forward to seeing with a real off season to work with and a real chance to cement the halfback position as his own how he will go.
 
Ben hunt is far from awesome. Anyone that says that knows nothing about league. Not once last year did he land a short kick or bomb where he intended too. And really, Do we want another halfback that is incapable of breaking the line? Thought that's why we got rid of Wallace...
 
Actually Ben Hunt has shown unlike Wallace he possesses an actual running game, capable of breaking the line, questioning the defensive line, setting up his outside or inside man and putting in short placed kicks to get repeat sets of six for the side(his long game definitely needs to improve), that alone makes him a far better option then Wallace ever could have been and deserves his opportunity in 2014.

He broke the line several times in his short stint last season. All you have done with your little rant is show your rude and are perhaps the one that 'knows nothing about league'

but one of his biggest problems is that he has tended to fade in and out of games, and if he is going to be a starting NRL quality half, he needs to get rid of that and show he can direct the team for the full 80 mins and not go missing for periods of the game.

my other concern is that i'm not sure he has a good long kicking game
 
Can we leave everyone's RL knowledge out of the conversation. We're all wannabe coaches with an opinion on a forum. Let's respect everyone's view please!
 
I'd like to see how many line breaks he made in 2014. To me Hunt is just warming the number 7 until someone better comes along. I'd love for him to prove me wrong though :-)
 
I think the fact that in the 1st game he was given the starting spot he made a couple of line breaks and got through the defence with a grubber deems your opinion wrong.

No that's not what you said. You said anyone that thinks he's awesome a knows nothing about rugby league. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. No one has claimed he is as good as DCE etc. but he hasn't been given a chance to show either way.

Furthermore, the poster you belittled for saying 'Ben hunt is awesome' was responding to the article that highlighted hunts dedication and work ethic, something sorely missed by 90% of our squad last season. So yes, Ben hunt is awesome... I clearly know nothing about rugby league
 
Pearce is alot closer to being in the league of Dce and Cronk then Ben hunt. And yes the quality of half back has dropped. Especially at our club!
