Sack Griffin/New Coach Discussion

Why would you want to move away from the ex that lead you to the most successful period of your life? It's like you are going out with a chick and during this time you are the CEO of a massive company, hugely respected and raking in the big bucks. She leaves you and the next chick comes along and is a massive bitch, makes you leave all your friends and scares away any new ones. Also sees you lose your job and start flipping burgers at maccas You leave her and hook up with a boring but safe girl after fearing for your life with the previous. Things go alright for a few years, your now manager of the maccas and are paying the bills but not much else, all of a sudden the first girl comes back into your life with an offer to take you to the top again, who you gonna go home with?

Top post!

Yeah I agree with this. I love moose and hope he stays of course, but the last thing we need is this kind of grand standing from players.

but you just know that the replacement for Moose will be Mason or equivalent.

awkward how Thorn helped us win a premiership and how Henjak signed Devere.

Devere played the 2009 season with us, bennett left at end of 2008. I dare say he signed him for the next year. But again, you agreed on thorn, whether or not he helped win anything, my point was bennett likes signing old guys. Thanks for agreeing

the guy is 65 fucking years old. at most he has 3 years left in him.

and using your analogy about Maccas, when he does retire, it will like be going from being manager of maccas again to taking out the garbage.

this signing is short sighted at best. they need a coach that can both rebuild the club and be around for the long hall.

I really like and agree with this part of a Paul Malone article in the courier mail. and if we can't get a coach in the Hasler mould, then this would be our best option.

Error Page

and in answer to those questions posted by Malone, i think the Walker brothers from Ipswich fit the bill perfectly

Yes, but once again who is this coach? It's really easy to live in a fanasy world and say "here is what we need, ok go!''

But this is reality, seeing that no one, not this forum, the fans, the media, all this ex players that keep banging on have even been able to put a name forward, even suggest some possible candidates... what does that tell you.

You are acting like we have a young craig bellemy/des hasler sitting at the back door begging to coach and we are saying ''no thanks''

If we all lived in this fantasy land it would be great. "I need a million dollars and Scarlett Johanson, ok go!''

Scarlett, I await your call.

did you even read my post ... go back and read the last line again. i put forward a name.

besides thats partly what the board's job is to find that coach ... you can't tell me there is not a single rugby league coach out there that can take us forward into a new golden era ... if thats the case rugby league (or maybe just the Brisbane Broncos) is doomed

Nah Henjak signed Devere out of Q cup for depth. The Thorn signing shows thats signing old blokes works sometimes. I am not even in the bring back Bennett camp I agree with you.

I did read your post, sorry I missed the last line.

That's a massive gamble

yes it is a massive gamble .... but so is taking Bennett back, at least with taking a gamble on coaches like the Walker brothers, there is a chance it could be a long term solution for us... taking Bennett back is a very short term option at best

Why not have the best of both. Bennett as head coach and the walker brothers as assistants. Theres your succession plan

how about a better world than that ....

Bennett as coaching director and the Walker brothers as head coaches

Dobbo from MMM has just stated that Moose McGuire has come out and said that if Hook goes...so will he.

There might be more that will want to leave also.

This could get pretty messy.

I also once heard Dobbo say that the Broncos haven't won the premiership since 2007.

The guy is some bogan butcher with no idea.

As i said in another thread, the best way to get over your ex, isnt trying to get back with them, its to sleep with someone else. Getting bennett back is fucking stupid, and thats putting it nicely

That's all good and well.........But we did sleep with someone else, and he/she was an absolute lemon in the sack.

Actually we've slept with 2

One tried to bite our **** off and the other keeps falling asleep before we get past foreplay
