First Test- Australia v New Zealand at the 'Gabba.

It is going to be very tough to bat early tomorrow.

Storms forecast in the arvo all of this week, we might be seeing some rain delays.

I think it would be a mistake to bowl unless you are sure it is going to stay overcast. The pitch will play very little part. If you bowl and it fines up you're stuffed.

I'd want it to be overcast till lunch or more.

Since Australia last lost at the 'Gabba in 1989.

14 five wicket hauls compared to 6 from the opposition.
Australia 3.47 runs per over 2.88 runs from the other side.
Australia has conceded 154 wickets fewer averaging 48.3 runs a wicket compared to 25.8.
Clarke averaged 103, Ponting 63, Taylor 53, Slater 84.

Yeah bowling first is not a great idea ever.

Today has great watching on both sides.

Australia; new captain, new players, Burns at home where he loves the bounce and will cut and a ground we don't lose at.

New Zealand; world class players in McCullum, a great wicket keeper batsman in Watling, two world class bowlers who swing it in Boult and Southee. Williamson is close to the best in the world with the bat.

New Zealand haven't lost in seven series, Australia have only lost 8 Tests in the last decade at home and haven't lost at home since 2012.

Looks like Warner has been working on his leave.
Will be better for it.

0/100 at the start of the second session. Warner on 54 and Burns 43

hope they can go on with it

Burns caught behind for 71 after an opening partnership of 164.

But the beautiful Davey Warner (my favourite player btw) made a century
