Air grabber should be his new name. The only time he made a real tackle was a shoulder charge. Nice work.

Ah true I forgot getting penalised for shoulder charge. Also for taking out Slater later on. (Melb played a lot of interference tonight. Smith got away with a massive obstruction).

Another heart-breaking loss, chalk it up as another 'so close, yet so far' result for this team.

In all fairness, they should have lost by a lot more. Melbourne had all the field position, they absolutely dominated the ruck and it was really only some desperate defence on the try line and some early season lapses from Melbourne that did them in.

In the end, the Broncos pack wasn't good enough (particularly McGuire and Sims), the fringe of Milford and Moga were easy targets and the Storm just have too many dangerous players who can make things happen out of nothing.

It's heart-breaking, but the pleasing thing for the Broncos is that they never stopped turning up and in the end, the difference was an utter fluke try.
Actually the difference was Kahu's fair try not being given.

We kind of engineered our own demise. We were superb in defence, made way to many simple errors. I know Jimmy scored, but overall him and Moga didnt really do a great deal in attack and i thought both were nothing more than ok in defence.

Milf was a passenger, Hunt tried hard, scored a good try but his kicking was average as usual. I know its early in the season, but we seem to be lacking a bit of spark in attack.
Hunt's kicking was superb. He probably only kicked half the usual amount due to the ducking errors.

Air grabber should be his new name. The only time he made a real tackle was a shoulder charge. Nice work.

That wasn't a shoulder charge. It doesn't meet the criteria of a shoulder charge. Not even under the new interpretation.

That was one of the many rubbish calls.

Starting props who did their job tonight:

J.Bromwich - 15 runs, 125 metres
McLean - 11 runs, 132 metres

Starting props who didn't do their job tonight:

Sims - 8 runs, 68 metres
Blair - 8 runs, 58 metres

**** I love gillett.

We got shafted and lost by two points away v last years finalists after turning in our worst first half for a long time (save WCC).

We're not far away... We'll put the raiders away and then be 2 and 2 v last years top 4...

Oates was great. Quite a few solid hits. Unfortunately the game encourages Melbourne style wrestling than hits like Oates put on.
Yeah true, I was more pointing to the fact that their attackers were getting on the outside of ours and being shut down quite well

I still feel we are the best team in the comp. No other team would have defended as well as we did in this game, and for those saying Melbourne made mistakes, those mistakes only happened due to pressure and frustration because of our defence. If we cut down the errors, buy the ref a beer(hodges quote) and get used to this new attacking structure from JD then we can't lose. Had to put my two cents in.

Who cares. I just don't feel anything for this game anymore.

Yeah same here. I mainly just tune in out of habit these days.

The refereeing wasn't good but Sutton didn't make us drop balls.

Last week wasn't good. Not the fact that we lost but that it went down exactly how the NRL and the media wanted it too. What are the chances of the exact same two teams playing in extra time five times in a row?

It's zero.

While I don't think its a conspiracy to say that it's all completely above board is simply not true.

Back on Melbourne, it reminded me of the first game in Townsville last year. When we got to a lead we didn't get a penalty for the rest of the night. It's bullshit. I think we got one penalty in the second half tonight.

I'm more pissed off about the number of errors. Same shit as last year and Bennett doesn't seem to be overly concerned. He needs to wake the **** up.

Super Freak Super Freak any chance of uploading replays of some of the more contentious decisions tonight?

Also interested to see the Slater vs Boyd incident a few people mentioned in the match thread.
