I don't mind he isn't in top form atm . Look what happened last year, shot out like a bull out of a gate then dipped. Its all about building for the season . I will say i am a little concerned about his willingness to get involved sometimes, being a half he should be looking for the ball more . How bout that ash taylor bloke ??

No way Milf is a 7 IMO, he has been disappointing so far but you can't judge a half when the pigs don't win the ruck.

Interesting how Parra pluck a winger/fullback out of necessity and put him at 6 and he plays the house down every week since just by running to the line with support then backing up any half break just in case. Just good ol fashioned footy and Gutherson is having a ball at the same time.

...next QLD "half"

I realise that's it almost just a number these days, but maybe Milford is a 7?

maybe next year ....when Hunt goes, Milford might slot into "halfback" and Benji Marshall fillls a gap for a year until we find our next 5/8
?

On Marshall.....without being great, I thought he was solid last night. I'm happy to give him more minutes to acheive a 3 forwards and 1 utility bench.

Taylor has absolutely been killing it controlling a team with a bunch of reserve graders. That pass for their second try was just class plus his kicking game is just a level above our blokes atm. Ah what could have been

Didn't expect this against Parra, not missing Hayne.

Correct.

It's Round 3 ffs where we just played Melbourne of all teams. Let's just calm down a bit guys. Milford has done more than enough in the last 2 years for us to have a little faith in him.

This gets said every time we lose to Melbourne as though we're expected to lose to them. But hey we only lost by 2 points to Melbourne in Melbourne

We've won 2/3 of our last in Melbourne and a ridiculous richochet cost us last night...

No way we're now expected to lose to them in Melbourne

Funny, when I saw that Storm pass, I thought he threw the ball forward and that it should have been pulled back.

They play better without Hayne. Showed it last year when they went to shit after he joined. Players like Hayne can be distracting. Without him, the halves won't feel obligated to include him, and will play better, structured footy. Not just 'throw it to Jarryd'

All I'm saying is, don't turn on the team. BHQ is way too quick to turn on the team if we lose.

I'm willing to persevere with Milford. The guy is a genuine superstar. He came up with the match winning play in round one. He was found out in round 2 but that was because Hunt went missing in golden point. I would rather someone try to win and fail then go missing completely. That's what Hunt did.

Milford wasn't good in round 3 though. He really let us down. I think he'll bounce back.

Milford will be fine. Just remember that game he played against Cowboys at Suncorp last season. Looked like he was going to break the line every run.

I do admit there are games where he just goes inexplicably missing though.

He would rather pass the ball to someone well on front of him than run it. Says a lot about where he has been for the last half of 2016 and this season.

I heard a stat last night that he lead the NRL last season in unassisted line breaks.. He did that whilst being dog shit after Round 8, imagine what he could do at the correct weight and with some self confidence? Scary thought.

It's much harder to be brilliant up front and too often on your own in the face of the best defence in the competition, targeted as well all the time. Milford's class has a price in more ways than one. My issue is that the coaching staff haven't yet realised that as was the case in 2015, when he has support players staying with him, kicking for him, that's when he is at his best. Thurston learned that lesson a while ago which is why he is always, well, almost always, close to Morgan and Cooper.

I can think of no better an attacking structure than one built around a running combination of Milford + Hunt + Gillett/Thaiday

100%. In 2015 Milford would also be blairs shadow too and Blair had a licence to offload. All of that has been shelved for over a season now and I can't understand why.
