Walters has confirmed Milford will be starting.

I nailed that yesterday. Good solid work Courier! Kevvie's simplicity is clear. I would be shocked if he ever changed around a team. He doesn't waste energy on press conferences to put pressure on refs or subtly bringing things up. He says all the time; no smoke and mirrors in Ipswich.

Day off today.

SO what happens if we win and Milf slays them. ? Does JT come back in and Morgan gets punted or does Kevvie say thanks Milf see you next year.

Also I'm keen to see how the HIA works in Origin. I wonder if there will be more leniency. I think in time ( and as soon as next year if either team is badly affected) we will see a 6 man bench in Origin.

Daelyn Cullen will be an independent doctor that will work with the two team doctors to make a decision. First time it's been done.

I just started to watch a reply of NRL 360, but had to stop because they had the most annoying, biased prick on the planet on the panel ... Phil Rothfield.

They started talking about the Bennett/Milford selection "drama" ... Phil as usual was having a go a Bennett, when Paul Crawley said this to him "If it was James Maloney called into the NSW squad as a back up with little chance, but had to miss the Sharks game because of it, you would be upset" and Rothfield said that's a different situation.

He was then talking to Morgan and was saying how the Maroons (in particular Smith and Cronk) morale was down because of Slater missing selection.

moving on to saying that Pearce is the form half in the comp and implying that he should have been selected for Australia over Cronk.

at that point it was TV off.

A lot of people are saying this but I had him in my SVRL team so I was taking notice. His game plan was to pass it to Keary for the first 6 or so weeks then a few weeks ago he started doing things himself. Keary has been their better half over the year.

Ricky Stuart tried to say he was the best in the world a few years ago too.

Will be interesting to see how Milford goes when he doesn't have to think too much about controlling the game. Will be like trial run for the Broncos next season.

You mean next season when we lose our well established half back who controls of majority of play?

Yeah can't imagine Milf needing to do too much then...

I mean if he excels with a half that controls/ manages the game the it may push the recruitment further in that direction. Given that Cronk is the best controlling half in the game it will be interesting to see what effect it has on Milford.

I can handle Kent, Elias and every other flog they get on that show....but I just can't cop that piece of shit and have to change the channel when he's on.

Rothfield's response of "different situation"... God damn. He just could not let the facts get in the way of his bias.

I went for a run this arvo and was listening to the Continuous Call mob when they interviewed this idiot. He's trying to talk up a Bennett / Kevvie feud big time and is even saying most of Brisbane is against Bennett. Just an out and out lying piece of shit. It will be in his gossip column tomorrow apparently.

I must say, your selectors should've had Valentine Holmes in there, genuinely surprised he didn't get picked. He really took his frustration out on the Bulldogs tonight and I feel he can kick on in representative after his strong form for Australia at the end of last year.

He decided to perform when it was too late.

Holmes, he has been hot and cold this year. Definitely hasn't been able to recapture his 2016 form on a consistent basis. Oates on the other hand, whenever he did get some ball he was quite good.

Plus Kevvie wanted to go with the team that won it last year for the first game because the first game is always a highly defensive game, it tends to be a dour one. He wanted experience before he worries about making other selections. Oates didn't do anything wrong to deserve to be dropped.

Origin pet hate because i have read it again this weekend.

Beetson did not play one game for Queensland; he played three. He played one Origin game but when people say it was his one chance to play for Queensland they're wrong.

He played the first Origin in 1980 and the first two state games the next year in 1981; got injured before the third game which was the second Origin game and Wally was captain.

New South Wales won his last game for Queensland 22-9. Leichardt Oval- 6268 people.

I have actually grown to dislike Origin a lot. I used to absolutely love it. Why do I hate it now?

1. Effect on the NRL comp. Broncos playing teams like the Warriors who are full strength at only half strength.

2. How branded and over marketed it has become. For example the QRL releasing press statements about Johnathan Thurston's injury way outside the 'Origin period'.

3. How the QRL/NRL have completely gouged the fans by way of ticket prices.

4. All the BS about the 'Maroons spirit and values'. Vomit.

5. Getting rid of the fighting when it was part of what made Origin so popular in the first place.

--

Overall I am well over it. Just my opinion though and I understand most people still love it. Anyone feel like me at all?

I'm the same way, I used to enjoy it but since fighting has been eradicated, I now find it very boring. The same team wins every year, split rounds, second rate club games, the toll it takes on the Broncos every single season. Yeah, riveting stuff.[emoji58]
